Poorly written, and badly translated. I can't believe they put that on their official site. Very unprofessional.

NCwest translator: "Hey guys does this look good? Does it make sense?"

"if the distance from the opposing character becomes farther than the distance required to use a skill, it is possible to use the skill by adjusting the shooting distance."

NCwest staff: "Sounds great! Makes sense!"

Reading the patch notes I had flashbacks to Age of Conan for some reason. It makes me sad that no one even cares enough to edit the grammar or make the entire patch notes using the same font.

Man.

I would hate to have a lot of you as customers in a restaurant. You are hard to please!

This patch may not address *every* issue in the game, but it does address some. It is progress, albeit incremental. Unfortunately, it also nerfs a few things to appease the belly-achers, which I don't like as it is a slippery-slide to WOW-land, but I'll hope this is simply a balancing issue and not pandering. Perhaps if you play a game where the patches are even farther apart and even less useful, you'll appreciate the little things in life.

HahAHaHa! ..."you'll appreciate the little things in life". I crack myself up with my sarcasm!

Anyway, I'm sorry this patch wonn't give you all the "I WIN!" button on your UI you seem to have been looking for.

Maybe next time, sluggers...

What progress? This patch addresses NOTHING that they community has asked for.
HOLY **** they changed the icon for apply poison.!!!1!11!! OMFG.
They made aether gathering even MORE tedious, just when we thought it couldn't get any worse.
They promised quest xp increase.... hmm I don't see anything about xp in that post.
They promised increased drop rates..... hmmm nothing again.
What about crysytem.dll? Even though I have never had this problem, it seems to be pretty game breaking for the people who do.
And yet they still evade the lingering bot problem.
Half that post didn't even make SENSE.
This game WILL die is NCSoft doesn't get their **** together and at least TRY to hold on.
Aion is an amazing game. I love it. But it will NOT continue to hold a player base if this is the way NCSoft handles it.
Aion was supposed to be the saving grace of the MMO industry, it was supposed to be huge, but it will not be because of NCwest.

Hang on, take a step back people and lets have a look at everything.

First of all, as said in the interview done with Liv, the crysystem.dll fix is being worked on.

Secondly, SM pets aren't even live in Korea yet, so don't expect to see anything about them in Western patch notes until then.

Thirdly, everyone has their own idea of what the gamebreaking bugs in the game are, and no they can't all be fixed in one patch.

This is a correction patch, not a major update. You guys are expecting too much out of it.

Let's look at the big things that HAVE been addressed:

-Elites will now trail right so people can't exploit them anymore.
-Drop rates off regular bosses in instances is being increased.
-Drop rate from the final bosses in the Instanced Dungeons have been Greatly increased.
-No more soloing slow Dark Poeta bosses.
-Speed on some sets has been moved to the boots instead of a set bonus, so Steel Rake armor is actually worth getting.
-You can now earn medals for successful fortress defense
-Captcha system to prevent Bot aether gathering
-Increased EXP, items, kinah, quest item drop rate, and chance of getting Contribution Decorations for some quests
-Lower group XP penalty
-Fewer Stigma shards to equip Stigmas

Just to name a few of the big highlights. For only being a month after release here, these are excellent fixes.

I have zero targeting problems, but what do you think the problems are? I haven't seen many complaints about this issue.

- When is the fix/enhancement of the chats (eg. background color) coming?
Minor aesthetic change, helpful yes, but there are more important things to work on.

- When is the fix for cryengine.dll crashed coming?
See quote above.

- When will the bosses' drop rates be better ?
They've greatly increased the drop rate of final instance bosses in 1.5.1

You can change which skillset you're using with the up and down arrows next to the bottom skillbar, so in essance, there are 480 total slots for skills, items, macros, etc. You may have to change which skillset number you're on, but there's plenty of room for whatever you have.
People complain about bots, then complain about the methods employed to stop them. Let's see someone program a bot to input a captcha.

I know everyone wants to see this game improve and succeed, but you have to realize that not every issue that is brought to their attention is an easy fix. 1.5.1 has been in development for at least a few weeks now and so new issues likely haven't even made it to Korean test servers yet. Pressing issues like Crysystem are being worked on but likely don't have a fast and easy fix.

I guess I'm just trying to be the voice of reason here. These are a lot of updates, some of them are great, and there's still a lot to fix, but we can't expect everything in one patch.

Keep posting about your most pressing issues- They ARE being read and anything I notice is getting a lot of worry/hype/buzz, I make sure to bring up with the Community Team so it gains visibility.

It's going to take some work and it's not going to happen over night, but the core issues are being addressed and there will be fixes for them but you have to follow the steps; Information gathering, analysis, planning, development, testing, release.

Just please make sure that if you complain about something, to explain why you are. Simple saying this patch sucks doesn't help anyone. State your issues, state ideas, and lets work together to get things fixed.

And one last note about bots:

To be honest, we got the same kind of non-answer from Ayase weeks ago, it's nothing new.

I don't think it's all doom and gloom really, as Knite said, I'm not expecting everything in this patch.

But, I will say that a lot of the things mentioned are a little vague; I'm not asking for exact details, but some of those points made are really just confusing.

Communication needs to be better. When there are other options out there, that people know work, they would at least like to see constant reminders that what they are paying for, what they are working for is being developed in a way that keeps them interested.

From where I stand, they don't care about us, I don't care about them.

Gotcha, CAPTCHA! Gmail bot detector system cracked - Ars Technica

This site speaks of a bot that was used to break Captcha back in 2008. There are some others but they are links to botting sites and arent allowed here.

Didn't they try a captcha system in Ragrnorak online? And didnt the botters just find a way around it? I'm going by word of mouth here, I could be wrong

I highly encourage everyone to re-read Knite's post earlier. I agree with his opinion and think that these are some solid changes. I espeically like;

- More loot being dropped.
- More boss loot.
- Anti bot measures.
- MORE GROUP XP(!).

As a whole, some good changes IMHO.

1. When you extract Aether, there’s a chance that Aether Poison Gas will infiltrate your body. The poison blocks gathering for a certain period of time unless you detoxify the poison.
- Once you are poisoned the only way to detoxify yourself is to utter the "Cleansing Word.”
- To utter the Cleansing Word, type the randomly given letters and numbers within the designated time
- When you utter the Word, you get three chances to enter the correct letter/number sequence. If you fail three times, Vitality Extracting and Aether Extracting are prohibited.
- The “/ExtractStatus” command provides your extraction status.
- When you have Aether Poison Gas in your body, you can still move and activate other abilities, so move to a safe place before you utter the Cleansing Word.
In all seriousness, I'm all about fighting off bots. This, however, is a ridiculous step. As someone else pointed out, it's already tedious and time consuming (read: sucks for flight time). So glad I've put off aether gathering til 30 for more flight time just to find out that it'll take the same amount of time as if I were to do it pre-1.5.1 at level 10. It'll be nearly impossible to do pre-30 now to boot.

This is like trying to fix a case of chicken pox with poison ivy: only thing it's going to do is make it more irritating and leave an ugly rash.
