Gameplay Video: Visions of the Future

NCsoft Korea has delivered on it's promise to debut their "Visions of the Future" trailer for Aion and to also make sure us Western fans have our trailer at the same time, some late hours were pulled at the NC West office to make sure ours was up at the same time! (Thanks Liv, Tamat and crew!) It's great to see both divisions releasing information simultaneously so that the global audience is considered.

Now, without further delay, the hugely anticipated and oft-hyped "Visions of the Future" gameplay trailer!

How awesome was that? Eh?

We've obviously got a lot to discuss, so let's begin! What did you see? What was the single most epic part of the video? What are you now most looking forward to? Do you have any theories on things you saw that weren't exactly explained?

EDIT: Time to gather up some of this discussion! Please note that ALL of this is speculatory until actual explaination and patch notes are released for each item. This is simple what we and the fans have perceived them to be from viewing the video.

• Upgraded Graphics! DX10? Dynamic lighting and overall crisper visuals
• New Zones! We saw a dangerous jungle, a vast living desert, an underwater city and world, and residential zones outside of the major cities!
• Dynamic Weather and seasons! Falling leaves, Accumulating and melting snow!
• Player Cities! Customizable houses and skins, multiple styles, customizable furniture and layout, city bulletin board, city decor. Did we see anything about legion halls?
• Mounts! One and two person mounts of at least 5 varieties, mounted combat, creature taming abilities.
• Improved Combat! Fluid motions, collision detection, unarmed combat, new weapons (Crossbow and Whip) and abilities! Finishing moves?
• New Classes? Fans have speculated Monk and Tamer classes.
• Player City Sieges! Bring the fight right to the doorsteps of your enemy! Houses appear to be destructible! Summon a Colossus to help? New defensive siege weapons- Aether Cannon?
• Vehicles- Boats were shown in front of player cities and also as a means to reach the underwater areas, but can players own and control them? Airships were also seen bringing a player to the city siege.

So did i see player housing and what could have been EQ server event style quests, or did i imagine the later as it is 5am?!?

also did you guys see the mounted combat bit? looks pretty epic.

On a slighlty negative note - will most likely have to upgrade my machine again for the improved engine but by god does it look awesome.

- Was that A Sorc who just tossed around some fella mid-range?
- Melee classes look wicked awesome. That glove thingy looked BEASTLY.
- CLASS. RIDING. GIANT DINOSAUR.
- I swear I saw a combo attack with the Ranger and a Sorc, not too sure though.
- Speaking of Sorcs, I saw some SWELL nukage. HEART THE NUKEAGE.

That would better explain what i saw, rather than the epic quest line that if failed buggered up one area for a certain amount of time for the whole server.

EDIT: Capital Seiges? Illusion Gate all of a sudden becomes one of a Sorc's greatest skills.
