Thanks for the update.
While the total numbers themselves are cool and all, it's the rate of growth that I'm all giddy about. __________________ The statistics on sanity are that one out of every four Americans is suffering from some form of mental illness. Aion doing well in Korean is no indication of it doing well in NA; simply because WoW has carved such a niche in our MMO economy. Millions of players from NA alone, they'll play it on the side definitely won't be their main source of MMO addiction. Everyone who has MMO, knows there will be server issues regardless of who makes the game. Since the population of players can't be predicted, OBT/CBT aren't close to the number of players that will actually subscribe. Server stability is to be expected, wotlk is a good example it's release brought back thousands upon thousands of inactive players. Free server transfer is offered to compensate for that. I think Aion is looking great, but to get people's hope up that it's a wow-killer is an overestimated figure. |

In China, decent chance. In NA/EU, probably not. Last edited by Hellrose; 11-18-2008 at 06:53 PM.. |

and here we go again... korean centric MMOs... this is why Aion wont even be remember amongst non-korean MMO players... 50% of their market comes from korea alone, so all this talk about how well the OB is in korea doesn't mean anything for the rest of the world, and comparing it to wow is like shooting your own foot, cause wow just beat a bunch of records in the last expansion...
the only good thing about this news are the age of the players |
