Been running Windows 7 x64 since I was playing on CAion.
I have a very high end PC, and as such if I run on my default settings (ie everything set to max), it still runs extremely smoothly but crashes within 10-30 seconds due to hitting the 2G wall in a real hurry. If I turn every graphics setting to minimum and Shift-F12, I can usually last through a whole siege without crashing, and obviously it still runs smoothly. In fact nothing I do can make it run slowly, even 200 people on the screen at max settings. The crashes are the only problem. =/ |

Microsoft did not win a single key Korean enterprise contract for Windows Vista. There are very few large net cafe chains or major corporations in Korea that run Windows Vista. For a number of business and unique technical reasons, Vista in Korea was even more of a failure than it was globally. I was able to validate this information through commercial means, but I am sure with a little digging you could find this out yourself.
As the officers in our guild know, I read the official Korean forums every day. We keep on top of the weekly patch notes, trends, etc. There are people both in this thread and others that have already noted that Korean forums do not mention fundamental crashing issues, even given the large number of servers and mature state of sieging there. But who cares. The biggest problem with all of your posts is that it seems English is not your first language, and therefore you misunderstand the context of the discussion. Most readers in this thread are probably wondering about the point you are really trying to make. We already know there is a problem with the game client, that is exacerbated on 64-bit operating systems, because it has been covered in-depth. I don't even think we disagree on anything beyond the effect that the widespread use of Windows XP in Korea potentially had on lessening the realisation/effect of this problem. NCsoft has already said that they had to specifically raise this issue with the Korean development team, at which point they determined it was in fact a game engine problem that is now being worked on to provide a resolution. This was not known all along - it would be negligent/nonsensical for NCsoft Korea to not communicate a problem of this magnitude to its subsidiaries, especially given the high uptake of 64-bit system expected with the release of Windows 7. All that really matters at this stage is that the crashing problems are fixed. ------------------------- @Stannie - I am using Window 7 64-bit with Nvidia GTX285 video cards, and generally experience around 1-2 crashes per day. Thse crashes are infrequent and random, but generally happen when sieging (I dont use Shift-F12 but do turn graphics to lowest settings) or transitioning between zones via the teleporter - in both cases its the same DLL errors reported in system logging.
