Chanter vs Cleric Healing

A Chanter in a group can only get 3 mantras at once (no matter how many he/she has... he has to choose)
2 chanters in a group can get 1 more mantra up, so 4 mantras in total : usually the higher lvl chanter gets up his 3 highest level mantras and the 2nd chanter will cast the last one (for instance, it can be Celestial, since it doesn't level or the HP regen ).

In any cases, they need to speak to each other because should the noob chanter start "re"casting other Mantras, he could erase those from his/her higher level partner (NC's stupidity here) >.<

I assume it is going to be like Lineage 2 where the cleric class could go bishop or prophet.

Prophet couldn't heal a grind party, but they were desired for the full range of buffs. Bishops only had weaker rank buffs, but had huge heals and much better rez.

So I would assume chanter = prophet and cleriic = bishop. OF course I have have no idea and I'm sure it isn't so simple

Imagine a chanter as a combo of a SWS, BD, WC, OL and you'll get a little of its possibility. Cleric is atm more like "an L2 nuker that could also heal like a bishop", lol.

Healers in Aion are nothing like true healers in L2 the "buff + sitdown" of a PP doesn't exist here : both are far from being static when in a party or solo.

i only heal when in party, i don't want the party to sit because of me and hate is often generated enough just from healing, don't want to add there with dmg. check out all those lv40+ multi add fights, how often does the cleric get aggro just from healing? often, and some ppl still want to deal dmg

You did not understand what we were referring to, thus posted a very obvious answer for a Cleric but completely meaningless to my argumentation...


In L2, there are classes that literally - yes literally - buff their party mates and then sit down so they can regen their MP to full and be able to rebuff everyone at the next buff session. They just don't even consider atking the mobs because they have absolutely no atk skills of interest that would balance the slower MP regen they have while standing up.

So these buffers are truly condemned to "what he said" : stfu and buff !


You, as a Cleric and me as a Chanter in Aion, can do all but become so inactive. My point :

Interestingly, reading your answer it seems that for you, to not be "static" in a group means DPSing, as you opposed me the act of "healing" your party member. Well to me, healing party member is completely included in my quoted definition : when a Cleric heals, he/she is far from being static.


Either you missquoted me, wanted to argue with someone saying Clerics should DPS or you did not read my post before answering me.

i refered to "not static" as in dpsing while not healing, which is often over the top later on because of the aggro i described.
maybe i misunderstood you.
