Chob, have rangers been taken to these parties? And r they good enuff dps at that level to do this for S rank?

You can kill Tahabeta (Rank S boss) with a Ranger in your group, but it's harder. Assassins have better evasion.
Assassin + Ranger can do well. But I think people prefer Assassin + Assassin.

And Rangers' dps can be very good but it's random.

No place for SMs? :-(

Is it just a sequence of bosses, or are there other trash/elites as well? It sounds really awesome, and I'd love to get a hold of some of those weapons/armour.

The last SS shows them fighting the S ranked boss and the person taking the SS's is a ranger, so you shouldnt be too concerned

Today we made an A grade run.

17k points with 1:30h left.

We've fighted against Calindi Flamelord and got a wipe at 30% ~ around.

I think there can be a place for SMs...assuming you are well-geared and well-played.

Our static DP group is templar - glad - cleric - chanter - sorc - assassin. We've done several A rank clears now (including killing the A rank boss), and we're getting very close to an S rank run. The sorc slot in this group could theoretically be replaced by an SM. Granted, the SM's DPS would be below the sorc's, but such a group could focus on AOEing while the SM dots and fears when possible, and occasionally has his pet off-tanking. With a high DPS group gunning for A and S rank clears, an SM actually might be preferable to sorc, since the entire group can focus on pumping out DPS and just fear adds away when necessray.

The main problem I can see with taking an SM to an S rank clear is that they will not be as useful on the S rank boss as a sorc or melee DPS...but then, there is the loot buff. :P
