2000 platinum coins for a weapon!

Can anyone confirm if you get to choose your weapon when you turn 2k in? As a glad, definitely not going to do this having a 1/6 chance of getting the pole. If anyone knows would be great, thanks

Did maybe half of 47 with the repeatables, and about 80% of 48, and only have 350 ish coins. I don't think I'm going to be able to hit 1000 when I hit 50.

I get 2 mil per turn in, so I can only do it about 60 times from 47-48 for a level. I'm averaging about 6 coins per turn in, so it really doesn't seem like I'm going to make it unless I suddenly start getting really lucky. They should have just fixed it at 2 Angel Eyes per turn in but keep the 3-6 coins for tipping the Shugo. Then the swings wouldn't be so drastic for different people.

are there different quests that give platinum coins? A friend of mine has done a "sea shell" quest twice now and has gotten 2 coins and 0 angel/demon/whatever eyes

Yes, there is at least another plat coin quest available at 47 in the upper village area of theobomos.




As to whether the weapon is random or not, there's a glad in my guild who's spent the last 9 days grinding the quest and is up to 12xx+ platinum coins, I'll post when he gets to 2000 and finds out

i did way over 700 runs in aion in total (2 characters in china leveled in there from 31 to 38 purely from running FT)

Yes it is, BUT at that lvls you dont have much things to do, at LvL 47 i done most of my single q and i got 2 pipes of 20 !!! what leave you to grind about 80 + mil exp

YES gear is good, weapons are good, BUT if you get something better you can always sell coins - atm price on our server is 20k for coin what is decent amount of money you can earn !

The quest is obviously meant to have people buy coins. Unless Koreans really are that insane.

I thought American companies were bad with how they juice and screw their customer base for extra money. Shows how an hourly payment model entices the worst sides of developers to forsake their sense of morality and ethics.

You really don't have to buy them if you don't want to.

Let's say that as a conservative estimate you get 6 coins per turn-in (that'd be gaining 1 angel eye per turn in ~80% of the time, with an average of 4 coins per eye; slightly less than what you actually get in most cases). If that is the case, then in order to get an armor piece you have to run 167 platinum coin quests - at a reasonable pace of 1 quest per half hour, it would require just over 80 hours of grind time. For some, that can be done in a week; for others, it would require 2-4 weeks (I'm looking at about 3 weeks myself, already up to ~330 coins). When we're talking endgame gold items, that is not a heavy investment by any means.

Additionally, it should be noted that if you are killing nothing other than the quest mobs, you will still gain in excess of 40k kinah just off of gray drops (not including manastones, or fluxes, or stigmas, or item drops) with every turn in. This will cover your eye turn-in expenses, as well as give you extra money with every turn-in to afford your skill books, purchase any consumables you need, and still leave you with a little extra just in case you do want to buy some supplementary coins/eyes. If you play the broker, or get some nice mob drops, you can buy even more of the stuff you crave.

At least wait until Miragent/Fenril before you start whining about the money/timesinks. This is a game that's going to make you work for your epics. A lot.

Sure in mmorpg turns 80 hours may seem like nothing, however 80 hours of doing nothing but grinding the same mob over and over and over again. Few singleplayer games even offer a total of 80 hours of gameplay. And in a singleplayer game they cram a whole experience in to those hours loaded with content and action.

Think about it. Ok for the next 3 weeks my gaming will consist of me mindlessly grinding the same mob and doing noting else. Then after those weeks i will get a slightly better weapon than i have now but it wont be endgame and i will replace it. Maybe in a week, maybe in months but it will get replaced.

All of them give 19% atk speed - get a clue before posting crap.

There are also 3 different Platium Coin quests, for Lv. 45, 47 and 50 - and you not only get 1 coin per mob, but also angel eyes or so, which you can turn in with some kinah to get a maximum of 8 coins/quest. A gladiator in my legion got it within a week, and he's not even 50 yet.

Welcome to mmo's circa 1998. Times change dude. If their gonna make a grind out of it they should atleast attempt to make it a bit varied. Reputation system is a much better solution, that way you get access to progressively better gear the more you grind. Or they shoudl incorporate platinum coin rewards for doing many things such as instances, dredgion etc that way coins would accumulate automatically while you do things you enjoy.

But i guess there is no incentive for developers to ever change since they have grind-core masochists like you yourself defending their every move. Maybe you are disabled or something and have nothing better to do than out-grind the competition but for the rest of us its a real pain.
