Imo, get 2 pieces of the blue set 400 coins total and sell any other coins you get, or just sell coins.

On triniel each coin is selling for 30k, 2000 coins = 60 million kinah...

So is your gold weapon worth 60 million kinah. Hell cut it in half, is it worth 30 million kinah. For that much kinah you can craft some of the best weapons in game.

I personally grabbed two pieces just to use as upgrades 200 coins would be 6mil or so on ah. Are the blues worth 6 mil, its up to you.

There's a level 27 coin quest in Morheim, you can repeat this 150 times if you want. You have to kill 21 of the Kentari Fighters and 12 of the Kentari Sentinels for a total of 33 per round. I know someone that went through all 150 repeats for the quest - he ended up killing about 5,000. If you ask me, that's just crazy!

I helped him through maybe 40-50 of these (I completed 72 myself - easy exp grind with 2-3 guys plus we came across a few mid-level 20 blue items during the process). The items we got as rewards....well, they all pretty much sucked. We received all greens from the NPC and the sad part was, the greens the NPC rewarded you with were worse than the greens we found while killing the Kentari.

Only good thing these items were good for was getting enchanting stones out of them. The enchanting stones I made ranged from level 28 to level 39. Good enough to enchant some of my items a little and then resell the rest for some okay coin (or use the stones on your younger alts).

By myself with my level 29 SM, it would roughly take me 20-24 minutes to do one run on this quest (had to rest and dodge some of the groups of 3 that wandered about). With 2 of us it took roughly 12 minutes and with 3 of us, we could do each coin run in about 7 minutes. We could go through 8-10 coin runs in an hour so it went fairly quick at times. So that's my suggestion, get a group of at least 3 guys to do the coin runs and it should go fairly quick.

I'm not sure if I'll manage to deal with another coin run quest since they just don't seem to offer you anything terribly useful.

You other mages should stop looking at the gloves and start looking at the tunic.

Attack speed gloves for mages is extremely underwhelming unless you maybe have an attack speed book from somewhere as well. Other than that, just the flat 7-8% will get you nowhere.

Instead, the tunic is one of the easiest to get with 10% flight speed. It will be my end game tunic until I get level 50 AP stuff.
The other tunic that's reasonable to obtain is the Fenril/Miragent which is kind of underwhelming. It actually has lesser base stats although it has +100 HP. It is also much harder to obtain vs the 1000 coin quest.

Also, the gloves from fenril/miragent are very easy to get and have atk speed so you may as well get those. If you get 1000 coin gloves, you'll replace them or find them obsolete very fast.

Not to mention that bodies always have more stats than gloves. If you are going to be paying the same price, might as well get the body. (Bodies should cost more than gloves because they offer more stats, like AP bodies cost a lot more AP/medal than AP gloves)

Uhh wouldn't it just be better to grind the quests out and sell the coins and when you get 50 just do the Miragent/Fenril set quests? **** that set cant take that long if people already have a full set now. Plus, you would have MILLION more kinah for the stigmas that are so ludicrously expensive

Or they shoudl incorporate platinum coin rewards for doing many things such as instances, dredgion etc that way coins would accumulate automatically while you do things you enjoy.

But i guess there is no incentive for developers to ever change since they have grind-core masochists like you yourself defending their every move. Maybe you are disabled or something and have nothing better to do than out-grind the competition but for the rest of us its a real pain.
Hint: You don't need to go after the gear if you don't want to. No one's holding a gun to your head and telling you to go grind coins - there's lots of other stuff for you to do. And yet, the option is still there should you choose to take it; if not, you can always sell your coins.

It sounds to me like you just want welfare epics. Stuff in this game is going to be hard to get, regardless of the means (gathering thousands of crafting mats, running instances hundreds of times, amassing hundreds of thousands of AP and dozens of medals, running extremely time/kinah consuming quest chains, etc).

People sell it for 30k, but do people actually buy it for 30k?

Yes, but not in bulk.

No one ever buys ALL 2k coins. People try to get 1k or 2k coins and come very close at the end but then burn out on the grind. Then, they buy the last few coins.

For instance if you need 2k coins, but you have 1,935 coins, then you might say screw it and buy 65 coins.

There are also 3 different Platium Coin quests, for Lv. 45, 47 and 50 - and you not only get 1 coin per mob, but also angel eyes or so, which you can turn in with some kinah to get a maximum of 8 coins/quest. A gladiator in my legion got it within a week, and he's not even 50 yet.
Based on the info from aionarmory, not all weap have +attack speed. Unless the info is wrong.

None of the 1 handed ones give +% attack speed, and the bow doesn't either.

Well, nowadays maybe. Classic and BC had rep rewards that actually were worth a damn. WotLK is hardly the same game though, I agree.

Thing is, neither solution is all that great. Both are bandaids for the real problem: Finding a good way to distribute items not intended to be dime a dozen, without closing them off to most of the playerbase, and without making them demand stretches of time the core gamer cannot really invest (like 6h+ continuos raids or something).

Coin Rewards is actually the most casual-friendly way to do it, because it can be done in small increments, not all at once. Rep grind isnt much different from that once they introduced daily quests.

But both mechanics are just boring in the long run if you really let them become your primary focus.

See, this is what drives people from one MMO to the next, and complaining about the "grind", the "boredom" the "forced" gameplay stuff every single time, in every single game, for every single thing: They focus on it exclusively.

A random player basically goes like this:
1. Get max-level: Figure out fastest way to attain exp, do it as long as it is the best, then switch to the next spot/dungeon/activity.
2. Get best items: Figure out the best way to obtain Item A, play the hell out of that till you got A. Now, figure out the best way to obtain item B, rinse repeat
3. Get maxed out rank/renown/honour: Figure out the best way to obtain rank/renown/honour, do it repeatedly till you are maxed.

NO GAME can stand up to that barrage of min/maxing and remain fun. The reason why some games ARE still fun is that either they really dont allow for min/maxing, the playerbase somehow doesnt care for min/maxing, or that they are in a genre where the playerbase does not start up the game already with the preconceived notion that after char creation, the min/maxing of everything starts.

A friend of mine complained that CoD4 sucked. HE said it bored him. I watched him play: He basically took the best weapon available to him, crawled up the to enemy, killed one, then quicksaved. Killed the next, quicksaved. When anything would go wrong, he would use up too much ammunition or anything else, he quickloaded and tried again.
Except for a few occasions where the game forced him to, he did everything with this quicksave/crawl/shoot/quickload routine. OF COURSE it isnt fun for him. OF COURSE the game seems really easy and just tedious.

Logging in, then grinding 2000 platinum coins and doing virtually nothing on the side till you have your golden weapon and allow yourself to move on is exactly that. You ruin the game for yourself. MMORPGs after WoW, and esp. after the latter half of BC, unfortunately drummed this way of playing into peoples heads for some reason. But really, if you need one week or two weeks longer to get your golden weapon, but retain the fun of the game, isnt that a good deal?

When 60 Elyos fight 20 Asmodians, no amount of golden weapons on EITHER side is going to matter anyway.
