Ok well we went to Engineer last night for the first time and did it on our first go. I looked up some thing on the internet that showed a spot to stand in and a spot to tank him and we only got aoed by one steam blast every minute or so. It was Very mana and healing intensive after the first maybe 25% and I can definitely see that if a healer isn't constantly doing their job it's an easy wipe.
I think dpsers need to stop crying and realise that they aren't the only class in game. Healers need fights that's aimed at them too and this fight is definitely one for the healers to enjoy. Our party was 43's and one 42 and felt tested, but I'm sure with some nice aoe healing stigmas like Splendor and a few more levels this would be a lot easier. He dropped the blue chain set pants.. |

Why are people comparing max level WoW raids with a level 40ish encounter in Aion? You should be comparing this instance with a boss back in say Stratholme in pre-TBC WoW or something which was equally easy; this is not an endgame encounter stop comparing the two. Another person brought up perfectly how dreadgions aren't even on farm though they've been out a long time in Korea.

Aion's bosses are anything other then tank and spanks, well the later ones at least. Though I do wish they would stop pulsating nyerking AoEs and ruining melee's life. Seems like both Aion and WoW reverted at times to just making a boss do random AoE stuff to make it "hard" instead of designing a fight.

C'thun in WoW was one of my all time favorite fights because it was so technically challenging. You had to kill the adds ASAP, stay an exact distance from other players or the beams will chain(instant wipe) and there was just enough room for 40 people to spread out, Run around the room when the big laser happened, then start phase 2! There you had to kill the tentacles, CC the eye ones in rotation so no one got hit, and depend on everyone to DPS the ones in the stomach to make him go vuln then all out DPS. If timing was wrong or someone wasn't doing their job the raid wiped. It truly encompassed everything from communication, technical skills, and gear check. With a technically challenging boss even 1000 people couldn't kill it unless they pull off the technical part properly. OR maybe you were talking about leveling PvE? In which case meh, the boss fights are usually the pinnacle of the PvE in a game and are what need to be judged. |

Not that there's a point in arguing with someone who has a pronounced pro-Blizzard/WoW bias in absolutely everything he's posted on WoW/Aion forums in the last 6 months. And yes, I do know who you are. That being said, WoW PvE is indeed better than Aion PvE. It really can't be said otherwise if one is to be objective. |

Yes one-shotted. So don't even try to say FFXI is hard. FFXI is just time consuming, it's an old school mmo. WoW in the other hand, always had a few bosses that requires hundreds of tries to be defeated. And we are talking about the best players in the world in a MMO where you're more likely to come accross much more excellent players in the same guild, due to the massive audience it has. |
