well the poll cant be accurate anyway, you dont know who or wich classes vote.
On the internets most ppl will do the usual '' lol my class is hard yours is easy lols'' anyway. my explanation of hard is quiete simple: The hardest classes are the ones who are easy to counter, so they have a great weight on their shoulders on how to deal their dmg and have to come up with strategies on how to get their stuff done and cant just apply it. Spiritmaster and sorcerer are in that leaque for example, they have to be careful how to deal their dmg, since human reaction time allows to shut down their casts before they happen. To me ranger could be the easiest. Melee dmg gets countered by gaining distance and kiting, even tho your very strong in melee range, melee range is also a dangerous area in group pvp, where the beating is going mostly, so being incredibly aware of surroundings is important and being constantly busy in how to prevent from being kited and how to get in melee range. Caster dmg gets countered by shutting down the casts before they happen, making the caster lose lot of time, if a caster moves around, his dmg will be close to 0 so movement is skillbased too, you cant just move and pewpew at the same time, this is easier with spirit master tho but a part of their dmg can be dispelled wich brings its own tactics to the field. Ranger dmg doesnt really get countered at all, they can even shoot from 0m and can attack while running away, so their dmg never stops or gets interrupted, yes i am aware of stuff like bind, but that just stops the dmg for a while, it doesnt get interrupted. They seem to have the strong points from melee '' attack while moving'' the crits +pushback, the kiting abitlies from casters. __________________

a interrupt cancels a attack, lets say you cast a 3 second cast, after ~2 seconds someone trows in a stun or silence, therefore interrupting a cast.
This is what i call interrupt. Just stopping a attack is the following, your fighting with a melee/ranger and cast bind as a gladiator for example, therefore stopping their dmg for a while, but you didnt interrupt a attack. Or if you just flat silence a caster who wasnt casting atm, than you plain stop their dmg for a while you dont interrupt it. hope that explained it a bit, i gues i was vaque about it. __________________

I'd imagine the SM to be the hardest. Pet control and what not. 2nd... I would've thought cleric, but everyone seems to disagree. I thought that being under constant fire and knowing when to heal and when to run, priorities in group and awareness on cd and appropirateness of which heal to use would be considered hard. Obviously, I have never played a cleric on Aion, I'm just speaking out of experience from other MMO's(namely GW)

In Aion most classes are easy to play, compared to other PvP games. Melee will ALWAYS be tougher then ranged, skills are all about movement and being tactical, I wud vote:
1. Assasin 2. Gladiator 3. Ranger Ranger on 3rd because they have are a rouge class, and have tons of small cc's, which needs reflex skills for sure. Last edited by Luba; 10-09-2009 at 09:02 AM.. |

In my opinion; Templar is the most gear associated class in the game...it takes a lot of +shield defense balanced with things like crit and HP to make a templar viable in about everything...but once you have that, all you do is run up to people and beat on them. And for the record; Nobody who does physical damage wants to engage you in combat if there are other targets around...the last thing any assassin, gladiator, and yes, even ranger wants to do is fight a templar in 1v1. |

the only thing this poll proves is that the rangers have the largest population in Aion.
if MMO history has taught us anything, usually it's the "less skilled" players (commonly referred as "noob") that wish to play a class that can burst down their opponents down from far away, before they can get close to them. therefore, rangers will always be the favorite class in any MMO for the 12 y/o's. and to these young, immature players, any class they play is "hard." that could be a assumption, but the poll would be most accurate if you can see wich classes voted on wich classes.

LOL, just LOL.
SMs hard? With three fear spells? It is one click win. Their pets with 5-9k hp? LOL. Sorcs are somewhat harder, maybe balanced. Rangers? Snare, sleep, stun, flying, no cast time. Melee cant reach you, casters cant cast? Hmm, maybe you have to care what your face is doing while rolling, but thats all, just fly up, sleep, roll. Imo hardest class are chanters, no CC, no that good healing, ok dps, no dispel. Right, we have some CC, but it is all melee, so against anything ranged it is just running or dying. On top of that you have to manage many short-time buffs, heal allies, switch mantras, use pots...... |

Ranger really does not take the most skill to play, sure it might have a high skill cap but that is something very different.
Sorcs though OP vs some classes, vs other ranged i have seen that ones new to it really have no idea and spam random skills, ones casting Inferno before i have used silence or sleep/root before the resist. __________________ !tsaeb yxes uoy The Gank Fairy |

Here is my opinion on the subject.
1. Sorcs are easy as hell to play. Learn how to use your CC and your burst, not that hard. 2. SMs aren't that difficult to play. They are much harder then sorcs, but pet control is pathetically easy. Some people can't wrap their heads around having a pet, but for me personally, pet classes are easier to play then non-pet classes. 3. Clerics are another easy to play class. Good survivability, range, a decent amount of damage (for solo pvping). 4. Everything else is harder, which includes Temp/Glad/Sin/Ranger/Chanter. I'd honestly say that Chanter is probably number 1. Chanters are melee, without assasin damage or temp/glad armor, and also have to weave a variety of buff/debuffs, etc.. All melee classes have their pros/cons as far as ease of play goes. Templars have a harder time catching people then most, but they soak up a ton of damage, which helps balance it out. Sins are squishy, but they have plenty of tricks (aether twisting/ambush etc..) to help them catch targets and avoid CC. I'd say Glad is probably number 2. They don't have a low CD "got ya" skill like Sins/Temps (ankle snare is on a 2 min cd), so they are easily kited around, making catching your opponent (and doing what you need to do in that timeframe), a big challenge. Ranger is the hardest range class to play. Unlike other classes, you are very bursty, which means you need to learn how to weave auto shots, use your burst at the right time, jumpshot, and kite all at the same time. |
