So what is the generally accepted, rock, paper, scissors theory for the classes? Who kills what? All I know is that mages seem to melt plate wearers.

Get a group. That's what the 2nd letter in MMORPG stands for. Multiplayer. The game is balanced for group vs group combat. You fully expect to be able to solo a class that is designed to keep a fully party alive from a group of players?

1-45 lvl ranged >melee.
we wil see how things will be at 45-50 lvl range since the melee start to close the distance in those lvls.
plus magic resist stones and elemental resists also coming in play in those lvls.

and last: stop saying this nonsense to ppl to get a healer blah blah blah.

not really. its a pretty even fight vs sorc. i mean, its hard work and i need to blow cooldowns but if i play well i can sometimes win. usually a pretty fun battle.

whereas fighting a cleric is just them hitting some similiar dmg to the sorc, except they can root me every 10 secs and heal themselves constantly. its just a completely pointless exercise.

funny though that i see clerics doing the same thing vs every other class. they don't seem to have any counter except getting a group of 3-4 people to kill one.

but of course people who actually play clerics will argue that their class is fine even though they wipe the floor with 90% of people in 1v1

Scout > Mage > Priest > Warrior > Scout

???

It really depends on your skills as a player.. How well you know your class and how well the other person knows theirs, gear, and levels.

etc etc etc

but you also might have found urself against a really good player

The only 2 classes I have trouble with 1v1 are Sm's and Rangers tbh. Other than that I will say It is good to be a Cleric for solo PvP. The real problem is nobody wanders around the abyss alone

Clerics may be OP but that wont change. They are the only pure healing class (lol@your youtube link) so there is a great need for a lot of players to play them. One of the best ways to attact players towards a class is making this class a little stronger than the rest. Given how great clerics actually heal (thanks for that!) I think their damage output and overall utility is way over the top but as mentioned there is nothing you can do but roll a cleric if you are really that desperate.

Also I cant understand why clerics have problems with rangers. Yes they can actually put up a little pressure compared to the rest of the classes that cant touch you but they are a one trick pony. If you can survive their initial burst with pots, especially breaking their silence, it is very easy to kill them because they cant tank damage at all, worse than any other class actually bar sins.

no comment on the SM though, I guess we all know how they do

I second this statement. SMs and Rangers are the only class that I will not engage 1v1 against if I see them alone. Well, I take that back...I can't help myself but to engage any enemy if they're alone but I fully expect to lose if I go up against a Ranger or SM of equal level. At L34 I have recently found my 1v1 battles against equal leveled Assassins to start becoming closer than they used to be but I also blame much of that (but not all) on my aging armor which I seriously need to replace.

I play a Cleric (45 now) and we are very OP in 1v1. We are because we have a lot of defensive abilities on short cooldowns, this is because we are designed to be able to stand a chance in 6v6+ fights. As a side effect we're the absolute kings of solo pvp. I haven't lost a 1v1 since I hit level 21 or so.

The key to beating a Cleric is to put pressure on them... the key to winning a fight as a Cleric is to draw the fight out so that your short cooldowns start coming back up (Flash of Recovery, Holy Shield, etc).

You say this is team game but in your defense, you sound like this is all you v. a team of enemy.

Yes, clerics are oped in 1v1 and in team, they are not weak either.

I blame on mana mechanics as they can stack HP and have more health than templars.

To the person who say clerics can be taken down by burst, mmm no. A cleric eats sorcerer if the cleric heal himself constantly.

Maybe he has two sets of gear?

MBoost for low dps classes to burn them down fast and +HP for longer fights/harder hitting enemies?

This is just a guess as I have no substantial knowledge of the class and it's damage capabilities.

I am a cleric, and i can tell you this right now, 42+ we are OP as ****. We got instant dmg nukes that will hit you for around 1.2k combined and can be used every 16 sec, we got an instant dot that does decent dmg (about 120 per 3 sec), we got a stigma dot that does about 200 per 3 sec, and we got a 10 sec cd 6 sec root, which means if we play our cards right, you can't escape from us unless you make it to a tower with about 15 sec of movement bursts every 30 sec (assuming you spam CC pots for our root).

Me vs my similarly geared/lvled friends almost always results in a win on the ground, and most definitely results in a win in the air (I really only die to aether's hold from a wiz with like inferno/frost before or after it). The hardest class I can fight isn't even SM, it's Ranger. Why? Because in the air, SMs can't catch me when they fear, they can't even catch me if I can keep moving on the ground. I would actually have to sit there in a small room (25m radius, where they can nonstop cast during fear and I won't run out of their range, so they can fear me for a minute). On the other hand, rangers can silence and slow often, to keep me in range, and i can't outpot it since it's lower than pot CD, on top of their stun and knockbacks from crits and their skills, but even then, as long as you get through their bursts, you can root them and go full heal. Unless tehy actually kill you within 20 sec while you run away, clerics will win, because that's the max amount of time you can atk us without getting re-rooted after you CCpot out of it.
