Just admit it... What you're saying is... You like playing an unbalanced game? So instead of telling me to L2mmo (Which I L2'd about 9 years ago...) why don't you L2 admit you're playing a horribly imbalanced PvP game, and you still enjoy it. ... Because you're a terrible. __________________ ~Heroes come and go, but legends never die. ![]() Sig complements of Shocked on Aionsource! If you're nyerking about imbalance, I guess that makes you a ****** player. O SNAP I WENT THERE. And you do need to l2mmo if the idea of an open area where you can fight the other faction is imbalanced. PS: If the game is imbalanced, it means I'm on the recieving end of the imbalance myself, and that I die to whatever you believe is imbalanced constantly... Makes perfect sense I'd enjoy a game like that! Get a brain, moran. Game isn't imbalanced, you're ****, you need to l2p, questions? Last edited by dalavita; 11-02-2009 at 02:09 PM.. |

But hey, I'll tell you why I'd want a fair fight in Aion. Because it's a RPG. It's a different GAME. It's a different way of having a fair fight. You know? I'm not sure if you can understand me, but you can't bring a FPS and Dota ( dunno what genre is this considered ) in a discussion about RPG games. I think I can try giving you an example. Imagine if CS was something like an online version of TES Oblivion, just that there are no swords and there are only guns. Now would that be fun? You are just exploring around and BAM!, some guy shoots you with an AWP. Would that be fun? Wouldn't you be like ' Hey, that wasn't fair, I want a fair fight with this guy in an Arena or something! '? Or you wouldn't care? Same thing with Aion. I'm not sure my example was understandable, but anyway... |

While you might wish for "fair" 5v5s in MMOs, that's not the standard of the genre, and not why a lot people play them. Some MMOs might have them, others won't. Wishing for 5v5s is one thing, nyerking about the Openness of the MMO is another, and my lines are mainly to those people. For 6v6s, there's the dredgion. For people who only want "fair" fights and 6v6s and such and don't like open playgrounds where whatever harsh and unfair but player driven event will occur, they should go play another game, since MMOs are not that way, and that's the way I love it. |

I still think it's funny you can't just say you enjoy playing an unbalanced game. There's nothing wrong with it buddy, if you enjoy playing bad games and wasting $15 a month on it, that's your deal. It shows you have no idea what real PvP is like, and you're bad, but meh. Again, you're entitled to being bad. I've stated the game's unbalanced and you've done nothing but personally attack me because you have no argument BESIDES "I like playing an unbalanced game! Leave me alone!" in other words of course. --- Also, new level of fail: unbalanced: Definition, Synonyms from Answers.com I'm sure that breaks personal records for you. Might want to know wtf you're talking about before you open your mouth to correct their grammar. Much like you should know wtf you're talking about before you open your mouth about whether a game is balanced or not... Go figure. I think that's GG. Peace. --- I also love the "Get a brain" insult. Just sayin'. __________________ ~Heroes come and go, but legends never die. ![]() Sig complements of Shocked on Aionsource! My Youtube channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/ChampionPajaba |

The risk factor of Aion is what makes it exciting. I agree that 5v5 arenas are boring because they are predictable and your options for winning are limited. In Aion, at least 50% of the battle is over before the first blow is given. To be successful in the Abyss you have to plan ahead: 1. You need to be stocked with the consumables and gear necessary for fighting. 2. You need to be aware of your level and the level of your opponents. Because I am low level the majority of the opponents I have fought have been higher level than me, but that isn't an insurmountable problem unless the range is HUGE. If you want to fight a level 50 as a 25, honestly, that's just plain stupid. 3. As an attacking player, once you have taken the first two points into consideration, you need to make sure that you get as many elements of the fight in your favor as possible. The four main elements I can think of are: a. First Strike b. Health Advantage (is your opponent weak or strong) c. Numbers Advantage (this also includes whether your opponent is fighting a mob) d. Flight vs Ground Combat (especially important if you are a class that succeeds more in one form of combat over the other) 4. If you are a defending player, it is a measure of your SKILL to protect yourself from an opponent gaining those same advantages over you. Successful PvPers a. Watch their radar and chat for incoming opponents. b. Rotate their camera while in combat to not get taken by surprise. c. Call for help in advance if a situation seems dire. d. Use common sense This last point is worth special attention. Here is an example: You are in a 1vs1 fight and you notice that your opponent is trying to draw you into a guard. Many people scream "coward" but then continue to try and draw their opponent away. Suddenly, three of the guy's friends swoop down from above and destroy you. Do you blame Aion for not being an Arena match with equal numbers or do you blame yourself for foolishly allowing an enemy keep you pinned in the same location while he called for reinforcements? So, I actually argue that this game is a TREMENDOUS measure of skill because it actually requires some thinking to be successful. It doesn't take any skill for a level 50 to kill a level 25, but plenty of skill is measured when a weaker opponent is able to defeat a stronger one by playing intelligently. In a game where it is impossible to gain advantages prior to a fight, a weaker player will ALWAYS lose to the higher level player unless the higher level player has brain damage. These are just some basic lessons that I have played a wide range of MMOs, but I think the game that most closely relates to the Abyss is Planetside (which so happens to be my favorite MMO of all time so far). And, yes, I also play EVE, WoW, and Guild Wars. ^_^ (Hmm... OK, long enough that I don't need 10char ;-) ) Post script -- A later poster recommended "spicing up" PvP zones to make them more enticing. Over the long haul, that might not be a bad idea. __________________ Pound's Erat Hora:... I think the PvP in Aion most closely resembles... Aion. Not so much WoW, EvE, UO, Lineage2, AoC, Warhammer or Guild wars... think it most closely resembles Aion.
srsly, enough with the comparisons, this isn't whatever game you've come from or played in the past, and if you want it to be, why are you playing this instead of whatever you played before. Aion is Aion, if you don't like it go play what you like... not trying to be sarcastic or rude but seriously.... it is what it is, alot of people enjoy it, so if you like it somewhere else better, gtfo and go play what you like. |

You say I'm terrible, but when I insult your skill as a player, all arguments fall apart? You sir, just blew my mind. Edit: Also, unbalancing is something you do. It's a verb. Imbalance is a state, and what word you should use to describe a game, moran. 10/10 troll tho, I actually fell for it until your last post. Last edited by dalavita; 11-02-2009 at 03:56 PM.. |

aion is nothing like eve at all. Aion's combat and pvp is more like a quicker, flashier and easier version of aoc

WoW's PvP system is pretty fail now. If you dont play an Arms Warrior, Rogue, DK, Ret Pally, Destro Warlock, Frost Mage you might as well not even try. BGs are a joke now especially Alterac Valley. Its not even a BG anymore its a race to kill the other person's faction leader and you run right past the others without even casting a single spell at them. I have been in an AV fight from start to finish and I was the #1 in kills with 7 and I wanted more but everyone is too concerned with not PvPing. Wintergrasp is also a joke since on most servers either the horde severely outnumbers the alliance or the alliance has far more people. I was on a server that went 3 weeks without ever having Wintergrasp....Yea thats balanced.
Anyone who thinks arena takes skill also probably think breathing takes skill. Its just a bunch of pillar humping sissies. And again only certain classes and specs are viable. If arenas were balanced then every comp should have an equal chance of winning. I should be able to play enhance shaman and shadow priest team and as long as we know our classes then we should be able to do as well as a Warrior/Druid team or what ever the FoTM arena setup is right now. |

You're right, unbalancing, is a verb. First thing you said that's correct. Unbalanced (the term I was using) is an adjective, did you even click the link? LOL You're attempting to correct my grammar with a synonym to a word I'm using, saying it's incorrect, hahahahahhahahahaha. This is too funny, I haven't had a troll call me a troll in a while. Go fail click your spells now (like I know you do, horribad) lil' buddy, oh make sure you have a zerg to cover your *** in your "balanced" "fun" game. Good job though, 10/10 dumbass. __________________ ~Heroes come and go, but legends never die. ![]() Sig complements of Shocked on Aionsource!
