IMO, most of the complaining about fear would stop if:

1. Mobs didn't agro a feared person.
2. AOE fear didn't affect so many people, maybe only 3?

These changes wouldn't affect the SM dps at all, so both parties are happy.

my 29 SM when i come up against most anyone, they resists my fear and sometimes they resists everything and it seems like even if they get hit by my DOTs they still resist Fear,,, wtf is fear broken? is SM class broken? sometimes I feel like it is, but

with flying pets (whenever this happens) and with 20 more levels, i guess I'd not suck as bad, but right now at lvl 29, i'd say my SM is pretty gimp, lots of downtime, I can take mobs easily 2-3 levels higher, but if i'm not careful i die easily enough,

all in all i'd say SM needs more buffs

Try to find a way to raise your magical accuracy? Clerics seem to run into that issue sometimes, too.

29 is low, any magical class will have a resistfest against people a few levels higher, the issue isnt the class or the spells and no amount of M.acc will save you when you are fighting gankers 11+ levels above you

first of all you might want to leave WoW out of it when you say pretty much...anything, anywhere, if you want to be taken seriously

second of all, every game is full of major flaws and the ballance is usually lacking when it gets released, WoW was, and still is, no exception, what can be done is help is to let the devs see wtf they did when they were smocking crack AKA:
"LULZ LETZ GIVE A CLASS AN UNBREAKABLE LONG-DURATION CC, HOW ABOUT THAT D00D?"

But unfortunatelly, you will always see some asshats who just want to play the game in easy-mode and dont want to give up on the extreme imballances/exploits that greatly favors them and wiill always try to sabotage the whole thing, spitting a lot of BS to somehow try to convince everyone else in the entire game that "the sky is green" and somehow, think its working

QQ more people. If you think SM is OP, I would love for you to be one and face someone in full gold. I have a near impossible time dropping a sin 5 levels below me in full gold already because his magic resist from the gear is epic. How do you think this will play out endgame when everyone has gold +10 gear?
All of the complaints act as if Fear was instant cast, and we were able to somehow pull awesome nukes our durring that time. I'm normally trying to keep my own *** alive when I fear someone. Also, if we hit any mobs with AOE Fear, Guess who they attack, it isn't the person i'm trying to kill.
We're wearing cloth, and have horrible defense. I have already been 1hit from Sorcs and yet no one complains about them. Just because turning a person into a pet is new to MMO's, doesn't mean you need to QQ about it.

nice another QQ thread. It's funny how people dont have complaints until they've been beaten or feel they chose the wrong class after all this time. Please remember how well a class does is based on the skill of the player. I dont understand why people install a MMO with the mind set that they will be a god and all will fear him or her. Learn the lesson, practice and come back and try again. People like having challenges and learning how to get around them.

Then again maybe everyone should be nyerked and the next time we all log in we'll be equipped with crappy armor and skills. twiggs as beating sticks, cotton balls as shields and a lame mana skill where you stare down your enemy or mob until either one of you logs the nyerk off from boredem.

but as always there will be a complaint regardless

Sorry but some of you guys shouldn't be standing on an uncontrolled SM in the first place. It's a one trick pony. Do you know how many completely awful SMs there are out there? The number of times I've been feared and they don't even remove my shield so as soon as fear breaks, I can kill them without losing a hit point.

Generally the best counter to an SM is another SM in group pvp. In solo pvp there is nothing I can do to a well-played ranger. Luckily there are a lot of awful rangers also.

Don't forget it's the worst scaling class in the game by a long margin. Wait till everyone is 50 and geared and see how many SMs run and reroll rangers.

Argument about endgame won't do because most of those who complain will never get there. Guess who has more influence: korean players top ranked players who's seen it all or someone who plays roughly for a month and just crawled to their mid 30s and think they can make suggestions about game balance already?

Precisely why this is a non-issue. If it was OP, it would have been changed a LONG time ago.

Also, FYI, when the game 1st came out, SM's had what they had now, PLUS the dots and nukes did a lot more damage. They were nerfed so hard most everyone who was playing them in K-AION re-rolled... so SM's already HAD their nerf, and they're now "working as intended".

Get to 50, then see if your crying holds any water. I'm sure you'll find it doesn't.

Fear is only decent thing SMs have.
Weak dots, pets that dont scale with gear, no hard nukes.

Common, people shouldnt complain about class that do dots hitting 100-200 every 3 seconds. And people playing FOTM overpowered classes like sorc shouldnt complain about other classes at all.
