Bind keys to chain skills w/o putting them on hotbar?

Is this possible, like for example when I hit 2, it opens up a chain with 2 options, the first option is to hit 2 again, but the second option is either to click, or to put that skill on your hotbar and press that button...

To better explain it, just look at this pic, with my hotbar the way it is, would it be possible to bind each of these chain skills to the keyboard number I wrote in red?



Also that would mean while the combo is up, the corresponding skill to that key on my hotbar would not work unless I clicked it...There should be an option to enable/disable something like that...It seems a waste to have to fill your hotbar with 2nd ord 3rd level chain skills just so you don't have to manually click them when they popup.

I haven't played a class with branching chain skills yet (or I haven't got to the branch yet), but have you tried layering them? Put the third one down then the second and finally the first? It looks like the warrior(?) is one of the more complex classes to play now that would be different. I'll have to give them a try. I'd like to know what works.

There's no dynamic binding. One skill per skill bar slot and that's it.

One way you can mitigate the waste of slots is to use a macro to fire all the skills in the combo one after another. However macro system is very primitive, so if the target is out of range after the first skill in the combo the second will not fire, unlike when under manual control you can close-in the distance to fire the second skill, within the short seconds of the combo duration of course. This also won't help branching combos.

Well I know theirs automatic dynamic binding when theirs just a single item at a stage in a chain such as if I have Flame arrow on key 2 it turns in to Blaze. But I take it you mean their is no manual way to do it.

I'd say macro them. For example for the 3 skills you want binded to 2, just put all 3 in order in a macro like so:

/skill "first skill
/skill "second skill"
/skill "third skill"

then just hit it 3 times to use the skills in a series as they come up. You'll get a small error message in your screen that skill isn't ready or something along those lines, but functionally it should work.

I find it unfortunate that branching chains breaks this excellent bit of functionality I know those of us who played AOC (and haven't we suffered enough) where very excited to see this.
