Are you using Spybot - Searth and Destroy btw and have their registry-blocking stuff running? If so, best turn that off til you can be sure that's not the problem.
Also I've added some quick screenies of where you should be able to find the folder options. I'm running a dutch version of Windows XP, so don't mind the language, just look at the location of the stuff... __________________ ![]() Forum Warrior

There should be an option somewhere in Spybot to disable the registry-monitoring stuff. I can't give you screenies as I don't use it on my own PC, but a PC I sometimes use over at a friend's house has that crap installed and I always turn it off because imo it annoys me more than it helps.

Ok have you set all hidden folders to visible yet and gone into your Temp directory to delete the Aion files?

From the little I know...I am absolutely sure that unhandled exception errors usually occur when there are registry issues. I am sure this is the cause of this problem. These are normally due to missing or invalid Registry paths (often caused by permission issues but not always).
Amarinth is one of the best troubleshooters on this forum though, so I won't suggest anything else until you're all out of ideas. I do have a fix handy if you get really stuck. |

Well if he's gotten rid the temp files, and it still won't work, then I'm all out of ideas too, actually.
![]() I have never seen this error before and can find barely any info on it otherwise. And general fixies iz not working... So if you have an idea please do throw it in here - the more wisdom the better. ![]() __________________ ![]() Forum Warrior

Well...if it's a virus and you have instructions, then that's fab. If it doesn't turn out to be Malware though, your only remaining solution is to repair your registry, so here are some instructions in case they are needed (I may be going soon):
Many people suggest using the free tool called "Reg Cleaner", however (contrary to popular belief) this is only capable of deleting broken/bad registry keys, not repairing them. Unfortunately the only way to truly repair a damaged registry entry is to either use a program called Registry Mechanic (not free and requires know-how) or to repair your Windows installation. In the case of Windows XP, repairing your installation is very simple. You just change the boot order to boot from the CD-ROM drive, insert your Windows Installation CD into the drive, then restart the PC. XP will start to install but it will stop when it finds your existing installation. It will ask you what to do at this point. You tell it to "Repair an existing installation of Windows XP" and let it run. Repairing your Windows installation doesn't change any of your current settings, nor does it delete your data or require you to reinstall drivers. It will only repair the registry and any other broken bits of the XP installation itself. But to be safe, I recommend backing up any important data before you do it (common sense of course) |

Ok, don't panic matey, we'll get you sorted
Have you tried backing up your important stuff and repairing your Windows installation? (see my previous post) It is healthy for you to do this from time to time anyway. How long ago was your original install? |

Yep, I think repairing/reinstalling windows is pretty much the best thing to try at this point. Do you have anyone in your vicinity, a friend or a family member, maybe, who is handy with these sort of things and could help you?

If you aren't given the option to boot from CD, you will need to force it. If you told me specifically what BIOS you were using, I could tell you what key to press to get into it and change the boot order. I suggest just restarting and watch what key it tells you to use (displays for 1-2 seconds) during the POST screen. Edited to add: Before you do the windows repair, I would recommend reading THIS and writing a few things down. If you have trouble you'll need to refer to something along the way. I guess I will have to try that and see how it turns out.
------------------------- Sorry about double post but I really need someones advice on this. Someone on the Aion Beta Forums told me that I am missing a file in .Net Framework and want me to reinstall it. Should I do that or should I reinstall Windows completely?
