It doesn't hurt to try, but it won't fix any registry errors you are having.
If you want to try installing the .NET framework just google for it and grab the latest one for your operating system. It's not something that you'll get from repairing your windows installation so you'll need to install it manually. The latest version of the .NET framework is 3.5 (SP1). Here let me google that for you. |

Did a reformat fix your problem? A friend of mine is encountering similar issues, and I'd like a response.

I can't say anything for certain, but I think that reformatting is a likely 'easy' solution; it worked at least for me (Running XP, not vista though). Backed up Aion via Steam to an external drive, formatted, reinstalled programs and Aion, which proceeded to work (this was just before CBE5).

The trouble with this particular error is that it almost always relates to registry errors and zxc is right, the easiest way to repair your registry is to repair your entire windows installation. Manually repairing registry files is dangerous and often does more harm than good so...if you get to the point where there is nothing left to try, then I strongly suggest you find your original windows CD and do a repair. |

I had the same problem, unhandled exception.
Tried the Regestry Mechanics program and repaired all the shared dll problems and now it works like a charm. This may be an old thread but I wanted to say that it worked for me, since this was the thread that helped me. Edit: I see now that it's not that old. |

I think I found the problem. I formatted my son's hard drive and re-installed XP SP3 with all 70+ patches. The only other things I had installed were my AV/firewall and NetNanny. I didn't think it was the firewall since I had the problem with AVG and it happened again with Kaspersky. That left NetNanny. I uninstalled it and rebooted. So far it looks like it is working. It made it past the error and is currently using the NCSoft Launcher to perform the download. I'll let you know if the error pops up again after the download. I'm hoping it won't since the problem seems to be with the Launcher rather than Aion itself.
