I have added a new known issue that causes the Gameguard Error 114 message. It appears that since the update of Gameguard introduced for Closed Beta #3, the Aion installation of Gameguard may now be seen to conflict with other installations of itself. This was seen today with a user who also played Rappelz, which is a game that also uses Gameguard. The user disabled the Rappelz installation of Gameguard and the problem was resolved.
To disable the other installation of Gameguard, the user used the steps described in this post, and found the Rappelz installation of Gameguard appearing in the "services" tab as "nProtect Gameguard". Disabling this one process by itself in the services tab solved the issue. |

Realy slow patching
I got my beta key for the july beta and got ncsoft downloader in and running then i try to patch the game and it is taking forever i started it over 12 hours ago and it is only at 65% i have a fast connection and a good computer. I have no problem downloading patches for other games that are about the same size as this one. Can anyone point me in the direction on how to make this go faster or help me figure it out? It has only been running at 96-144kbs. at this rate by the time that patch is in the beta will be over.

I'm hoping someone can help me. I've been trying to download Aion for the last week. I am not the most computer savvy person out there, and this is my first gaming attempt. But even between me, my Aion friend, and two of HER good (and very tech savvy) friends, we are still getting the
"AionClient has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." error message. Now, today I got and installed a new Video Card from Sapphire. The make: HD2400 PRO 512M DDR2 AGP VGA/TVO/DVI-I into my HP Pavilion a430n. It's an older computer, but all the specs are up to date, except for the 2.2GHz CPU. I was advised that the CPU would not be a problem, but perhaps I was told wrong? Isn't that just called 'overclocking'? In any case, can anyone tell me whether that is an appropriate Video Card? And if so, will the disc I got within the package install the 'very latest graphics card drivers for your system' recommended in the top post of this thread? I assumed not and went to this site: http://www.sapphiretech.com/presenta...gid=335&pid=77 to pick up and install all the available patches for the Window's XP US downloads... all of them, since I've got the space and I've no clue whether there are any there which are NOT needed. That said, needed or not, a few of them have refused to install because... er... lets hope I remember this correctly: "it did not find a driver compatible with your current hardware or operating system." Tell me how that can be, when I just put THEIR hardware in my computer just hours ago followed by the DVD of their drivers, and finally, I've only downloaded patches off of the XP side (that's my OS) Or am I just stupid? Please, feel free to tell me THAT'S the problem, because at this point it would be a relief that at least there was a reason! lol FYI, I am now re-downloading the AION program again, under the advice of the top post of this thread. Looooong download process there. Basically, my question is, can someone help me get Aion up and running before my beta key is over for the weekend? I don't know if the info I provided so far helps, or simply bores, but I want very badly to join you guys in this game. I've been fighting this out and it sounds like so much more fun to fight those nasty monsters! |
