Thank you for your help, Aion Bunny. I managed the patch, however I am still unable to launch. Same error message. Plus a new one:
Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library error message Runtime Error! Program: ...ed\PIF\{B8E1DD85-8582-4c61-B58F-2F227FCA9A08}\PifSvc.exe This application has requested the Runtime to terminate in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information. I am attempting the advice on this page: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/ and am posting this info in case others have the same error message. Hopefully this will work. If it does, I'll let you know. If you have any further advice, please let me know. I am VERY frustrated :P |

Oh dear! That's not good at all! Tell me, you are running Windows XP 32 bit and not 64 bit? The link I gave in the previous post was for the graphics driver for your card, using Windows XP 32 bit. I'm not familiar with the Visual C++ Runtime error, but it sounds quite nasty.
Have you attempted to disable all start up applications as suggested in the second to last step of Question 14 in the FAQ page (first post of this thread) ? |

I've not tried #14 start up... will try that next. I did try to go through the Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime diagnostic steps, only to discover that the problem, MoSearch did not appear in the Selective Startup tab at all. One presumes that if it is not there, it cannot be the problem :P So... I'll try #14 next.
And yes, I do believe I am the 32 bit. Wish me luck. ------------------------- I just tried that, and still no launch. AionClient officially hates me. I don't even know what the heck to try next. I'm sorry to be a pain, but what do I do? Last edited by elvensong; 07-04-2009 at 02:23 PM.. Reason: Automerged Double-Post. |

Sooo I just downloaded the game client a day or two ago everything installed fine up until the awesome gameguard update. Error 360 all over the place. I have followed every single suggestion I could find and even went as far as removing mcafee security entirely from my computer. Nothing seems to work. I have all the correct ports open and all exceptions possible in place.
I read on the ncsoft reply to gameguard error 114 that "C:\Program Files\NCSoft\Aion\bin32\AION.bin" "C:\Program Files\NCSoft\Aion\bin32\GameGuard\GameMon.des" should be exceptions but for some reason mcafee doesnt have an option for just certain files to be exceptions, only .exe files but this is an issue with mcafee so ill work on that from a different angle. This error is extremely frustrating and any other help than the linking of the same answer found everywhere would be appreciated. system specs if they help... Windows Vista Home Premium (64bit) 2GB Ram Intel Core 2 Duo CPU E8400 3.00GHz Nvidia Gefore 9800 GT thanks again |

I know this is a silly question and you've probably already done this but I have to ask...are you right clicking on the NCSoft Launcher and running it as the administrator?
Yes I am and user account control is turned off because its annoying. Have you checked your Aion log file to see if there are any clues at the end of the file? You'll find the log file in the directory C:\Program Files\NCSoft\Aion. If you can copy and paste the last few lines that have a time stamp associated with when you last ran the game client, that would be helpful. Actually having trouble finding this file. Does it go by another name? I forgot to mention that the aion folder is in program files(x86) and I have no clue if that is affecting it. You should also add the file called "Gameguard.des" to the trusted list in your security software. Do you play other games that use Gameguard? (for example Rappelz) I dont play anything else that uses gameguard but i have in the past..maybe 2 or 3 months ago (removed GG and the game) and i remember having the same problem and fixing it but i have no recollection of how i fixed it. would it be helpful to download another game that uses gameguard? And I do have that file but I can't figure out how to put it as a trusted file on mcafee. For some reason it only wants to put whole programs as trusted not single files. It specifically says "add .exe file" and has no other options. What firewall product do you use? firewall product is Mcafee total protection edit and thank you for replying so quickly Last edited by tyvenx; 07-08-2009 at 09:16 AM.. |

Alright so the log file exist but there are 10 of them. The first 4 are quite short but the last 6 are huge and I can't figure out what you might be looking for in them. Here is the end of the very last file:
2009-07-08 15:58:45.0744 : 12 : Info : Patcher: EndOp: Verifying file: Objects\npc\human\Mesh_Textures_004.pak. : () : 100% 2009-07-08 15:58:45.0744 : 12 : Info : Patcher: EndOp: Verifying file contents: Objects\npc\human\Mesh_Textures_004.pak. : () : 0% 2009-07-08 15:58:45.0744 : 12 : Info : Patcher: BeginOp: Verifying file contents: Objects\pc\df\mesh\Mesh_Meshes_011.pak. : () : 0% 2009-07-08 15:58:45.0754 : 12 : Info : Patcher: BeginOp: Verifying file: Objects\pc\df\mesh\Mesh_Meshes_011.pak. : () : 0% 2009-07-08 15:58:45.0754 : 12 : Info : FileVerifier: Verifying: 'C:\Program Files (x86)\NCsoft\AionEU\Objects\pc\df\mesh\Mesh_Meshes _011.pak' Expected Hash = 'CD4312C1FD9AA8D4AEE1ADAE7302EE3F' Expected Length = -1 2009-07-08 15:58:45.0754 : 12 : Info : Patcher: BeginOp: : () : 0% 2009-07-08 15:58:45.2784 : 12 : Info : Patcher: EndOp: : () : 100% And as for that whole list of instructions I did that but it still came out at error 360. this makes me sad but I really do appreciate your help...I guess I will just keep messing around with settings and such until it works------------------------- lol ok I have no idea what I did but after I did that enabling and disabling of the startups and services I changed it all back to normal and decided to run aion again. I did the same thing 3 times. error 360. I decided to do it once more and by some miracle it finished the gameguard patch and I was able to get to the login screen. GAhhHH all day spent being stressed out and then it goes and just decides it will work like nothing is wrong...I love technology...I literally changed nothing. Didn't turn off any firewalls, anti-virus apps, or anything of that sort. WEeeEE O-o. I really to appreciate your help a lot Aion Bunny. Last edited by tyvenx; 07-08-2009 at 01:18 PM.. Thank you for including the part at what you should see when servers are down. It's useful for people like me who haven't logged into the beta yet and want to know if everything is set up properly, thus increasing more time gaming and less time messing with technical problems!

Hey there, sorry to hear you're having issues. If you could reply with the below info I'm sure we can get to the root of the problem:
1. Which download method are you using? (NCSoft Launcher? Fileplanet? Other?) 2. How long have you been sitting at 10%? 3. What does the downloader say your download speed is? 4. What operating system are you using? |
