You mean if it is as bad as it is in Asia? If it becomes as bad as some people are suggesting they maybe.
But if you meet 1 or 2 of them and quit.. then never touch another mmos again... or Real life to be honest.

If someone came to rob your house.. you would act... but what about someone else's house? not many people willing to bother or risk their lives...

Yeah, confirmed in C-Aion, at least.
Numerous instances of:

1) Characters moving with extremely high speeds all the time (you mainly see that when they're gathering resources), with no walking animation - i.e. it looks like a character in a perfect standstill is swiftly hovering from one point to another.

2) Characters using every skill that is not on a cooldown without any delay - it looks like a sudden burst of flashes from every single attack skill character has, launched in an incredibly short time window, resulting in monster (or player) being killed next to instantly. And no, it's not the short-duration attack speed buffs/scrolls - they don't work all the time (buffs have cooldowns, says Captain Obvious), and they tend to display a buff icon on the character when active. These guys usually have none.

Some bot users on AION-related forums have reported that that's because the bot program for C-Aion has a built-in module that allows it to send commands for the next skill to be used bypassing the game UI - and there's a simple slider which allows you to set a delay (in milliseconds) between skills being used. Granted, this *may* be fixed in 1.2 - so I'm currently waiting for the patch to go live in China to see if it did any good. If speed hacks are still there *after* the patch NC will be facing quite a bit of problems when EU/NA launches. Needless to say, game guard is NOT solving any problems of the kind ATM...

It's still same after the 1.2 patch.
This post was partly translated from Korean Aion forum(aion.inven.co.kr).

I swear if they bring their s*** to EU / America they deserve ....

If this lone thing destroys the game I give up on mmo's... finally something good.. fun.. with fast combat, awesome graphics, fluid animations..

Please everyone here promise me you will be RELENTLESS if you see so much as an ant hacking in Aion.

I know its probably hopeless optimism but Windows 7 was supposed to cure some of this. It has tighter controls over how .dlls can be injected into a processes memory space and how a programs memory space can be read.

One of the reasons that Gameguard blows up on on Win7 is that GG uses the same technical features of the Hacks and Bots described in this thread. GG injects itself into varied Windows processes to hide itself and to monitor your processes. This is similar to what the hacks do, but they also scan/read/manipulate the memory range in which the game operates. Win7 limits the conditions this can be done - farging up GG.

What this means is Win7 is going to be a bear for GG to overcome. They might have to rethink their strategies. Once done the same things that give GG fits will give the hacks fits.

I hope that GG or NCSoft will take advantage of the enhanced security features of Win7 - but am not sure they will before the hackers find away to circumvent those safeguards.

*If* this is right. It will take some time I would guess. Till then - aggressive measures need to be taken.

Probably too optimistic though.

Western users are willing to help stop botting and hacking with a game. We, as users, can only do so much before we give up and quit, or leave retail server to find a privet server. It's not fair for normal users to be punished for wanting to play a game and the people providing the service not doing anything about it.

Strange how nowdays I only see this type of **** in games with gamegaurd. If this makes it to NA/EU and becomes rampant I won't even try to ignore, just move on to a different game.

Not saying you're wrong, just saying that skills exist that might explain such a situation.

Nah this hack is real, even the bots have built in speed hack. I got owned by a bot the other day, I was kiting him fine and then my snare got resisted and next thing i know i was on the ground, he did like 5 atks almost instantly and drop me so fast i couldn't even pot. This is common on C-aion

Yeap I have to agree that if this makes it way over to NA/EU retail they can say bye bye to a vast amount of players.

There was a similar speedhack in a game that was also supposedly protected by GG.

They need to impose a server side cooldown on abilities. A bot program can easily cancel all of these "cooldown" animations and just spam all their abilities instantly. It doesn't impose skill to manually skip the animations, its just a system waiting to be abused.
