The skill was cancelled

Ok so I'm playing the beta and my cleric is now up to 17 (halfway to 18) and I keep running into this problem...

Whenever I fight anything in the game, while I cast spells I constantly get "The Skill was Cancelled" on my screen and then I stop casting. It's very frustrating since it happens whenever I heal and when I am attacking with smite.

Am I doing something wrong for this to pop up? Are my enemies using some sort of spell interrupt? Is it build into the game where getting hit has a certain % of making you stop casting?

I just died 3 times in a row because I had 3-4 heals interrupted in a row and I couldn't survive even after popping a health potion and a shield scroll... It's very frustrating and I'm hoping there's some way to prevent it.

Yes, if you don't have casting concentration being hit has a chance to interrupt you. By the by, are you in chain or robes? I dealt with that some too in the Chinese version, but never to the point I died.

EDIT: I should say if you have low casting concentration then you, of course, have a higher chance to be interrupted.

wearing a mix of chain/robes right now... i have yet to find any chain that has caster stats on it... it's all high defense/evasion

guess i'll have to find some gear that offers casting concentration

All attacks have a chance to interrupt you from what I've experienced. Get some concentration stat gear and it'll happen less often.

Not sure what you mean...chain is specifically tailored to the priest classes. It comes with MP, casting concentration, etc. You will have a little evasion but its main strength is physical damage reduction.

Cloth...is not good, especially when soloing. I personally would not use cloth period, but some say they'd want it for large PvE raids to have an even larger MP pool.

EDIT: Your root can also help if you get too much aggro or are in serious trouble from interrupts.

There is another issue going on.

If you mash your keys and get to auto attack right before you start trying to cast, the spell gets canceled to get the full attack animation + correlated dmg.
Not wearing concentration gear in pve against 1 mob is not gonna let you stop casts so often (unless you aggro 5 of them ).

Yeah, that had me scratching my head a bit as well. I don't recall ever having autoattack cancel my casts either though, so I'm not sure.
