I have always played a Ranger but actually thinking of maybe changing it up on this game and going for the Assassin.

Ive played AoC and WoWs attempts at rangers and allways liked the class, really looking forwards to the aion rangers ^^

L2 rangers were done really well. So were WoWs. I dont think ive ever played a game with boring/gimp rangers.

I don't think rangers will be the ownage that we saw in Lineage 2, things are a lot more balanced here and the malee have charge so you will not be able of kite all the time. But for the last things i readed they are enhancing the archer dd, becouse archer's are about single target dd, so if you whant aoe, this is not your class

Chances are they wont be that good, but they are never bad. Its almost impossible to make a ranged class that deals damage "bad".

I've been deciding between gladiator/chanter/ranger, but now I'm deciding between ranger/sorc/gladiator I guess that makes me 1/3 ranger

2366 IF they maintain the tradition of rangers in games like L2, FFXI, and WoW. In all 3 games they're insane damagers in their later levels. I loved FFXI rangers in particular. Little expensive to maintain but their damage is just ridiculous with enough effort put into them. I will mainly use ranger for raids or other large battles. Being sneaky with traps just looks too fun also. Other than that i'm willing to play any class that fits in with the people i'll meet and play with. Every class in Aion looks very appealing to me

Originally, I was going to play an assassin, but since everyone and their gran seems to be rolling Asmodian assassins (for teh evilz! lolz), I had a look at Ranger, and really liked the idea of being able to adapt from ranged to close combat - maybe not with high damage of the latter, but at least I won't die after two hits.

It seems very versatile, and even while I cringe to say it (for my sins for my sins), it does rather remind me of the Hunter class from WoW, which I greatly enjoyed. I feel dirty even admitting that, but it's true.

I've always loved playing the ranger class. In Guild Wars I even have my Assassin set up as a high critical strike ranger. I can't wait to play ranger in Aion, I'm sure it'll be a blast.
