Looking at the stigma builds of high-ranked Korean rangers

Here's a couple profiles of high ranked level 50 Korean rangers from various different Korean servers:

If a profile doesn't load properly, try refreshing a few times.

What I'm most interested in here is stigma builds, and here's the translations for advanced stigmas (The stigma section of the character web page is separated in two sections. Advanced stigmas show up in the bottom section, and "final" stigma show up in gold text):
?? ?? I = Explosive Arrow
??? ?? I = Speed of the Wind
I would post the other advanced stigmas... but I didn't see a single ranger using any other than those two.

So it looks like there are two popular stigma builds for endgame ranger PvP:
Explosive Arrow + Speed of the Wind and the rest normal stigmas
or just Explosive Arrow and the rest normal stigmas.

It appears going for Lethal Arrow or Heart Shot just isn't worth it

lol ranger is all about kiting and high burst dmg, so that 1k dmg from explosive arrow is really worth getting and speed of wind is an obvious choice :P

My thoughts also, but what I found most interesting is that a lot number of rangers ONLY take explosive arrow, and not speed of the wind.

I assume speed of the wind doesn't improve flying speed? That would make it less attractive, but still pretty powerful.

because of "high chance of crit" well with 440 crit almost 1/2 of your hits will be crits so i rather do 1k dmg than a chance to do 1.2k from a crit :P

The reason is probably because most of those players are soft capped without any buffs. making SoW only half as good. and then the fact that it lasts 1 min every 3 min and then how it doesnt increase flight speed.. it's not bad imo but it looks like instead of getting it, they got nature's resolve and the level 50 stigma skill (Holy/Deadly Arrow) instead of trap of slowing and SoW.

Yeah i kinda mixed stigams up xD explosive arrow with lethal, maybe they think 1min cd is too much, or something.

Edit: nvm it's because if you want speed of wind and focused shots ect. http://www.aionarmory.com/stigmaCalc...:633:641:642:0 you don't have enough stigma slots for any other stigmas so you won't waste one of your slots for arrow of deluge...

yes. it is too much. it also has a 2 sec cast time. tbh i really like heart shot... it seems to be the best dps (group pvp) but the requirements for it are bad.

everyone seems to be focused on ganking because thats their only experience in-game so far. but what they dont know or realize is that there's a lot of organized group pvp coming their way which renders lethal arrow almost useless.

stopping for 2 sec to cast a skill in dredgion is not what you want to be doing. you want movement, speed and dps. you can get very high burst without lethal arrow.. it's a very silly skill.

edit: yeah, that too. the requirements get out of hand..

Yeah and i didn't notice that cast time... that's why the dmg is so big, "feel like a sorc for 2sec" xD so if you want most of the dmg and speed buff you dont have enough slots. That might change in the future when they might increase the cap, but not anytime soon

Not to whine or anything but our normal stigma's are much more superieur than any of the advanced ones lol. So i am not surprised.

Thats what i would like to see being fixed/changed.

Stigmas talents being redone.
And also melee spells being made useful, than ill be like --->

What would you ppl think of:

Advanced stigmas-> gale arrow(with natural healing and retreating slash as pre) and explosive arrow (focused shots and bow of blessing as pre) than sleep and silence arrow.

or.

Explosive arrow->bow of blessing->Focused shots. Than sleep and silence arrow and snare trap. Holy arrow and trap of slowing.

??

and your links give korean stuff, or i am doing something wrong.

Anything but this please. Ranger's don't need melee. Ever. If anything just make Counterattack work with bows.

Definitely would like Counterattack with a bow. Whichever developer decided that Rangers would want to melee was probably smoking the same stuff as the guy who came up with Aether Arrow I - Skills - Aion. Or maybe it was even the same guy! Who knows.

Same as the first ranger on your list, it seems like a very well rounded build with heavy heavy burst damage and buff support and fairly good vs casters because of Nature's Resolve.

And no Hart and Lethal just requires to much sacrifice to be worth it i can not fathom why they added so many ****** stigma requirements for them -.-

I think you can do what you want personally. There is no "best" build, some are better for this and others for that, but its all personal preference.

For instance, you could make a Lethal build work. You'd have to drop BF, but it wouldn't be that bad (esp if you don't like BF). Aion Armory - Ranger Stigma Calculator - By Terhix

Here is another unconvential build that could work. Its a Gale/Explosive build, and while it once again doesn't have BF, it wouldn't be bad at all. Aion Armory - Ranger Stigma Calculator - By Terhix
