All that when you could just not play it? Lol, fool. You aren't impressing anyone with your WoW bias close minded thinking, sorry but this game is not meant to be a WoW clone, but I guess you're just another teenage fanboy... sigh...

Doesn't mean you should resort to steering the thread off topic - the less cluttered this thread gets the faster I can come up with a resolution =p

If anyone wants to take a shot against his arguments then go ahead while I'm figuring everything out :3

OWNED!
Its wonderful that something so small (like this post) owns so hard something so long (like the OPs post).
Its David and Goliath once more.

No worries OP, you can write a novel and sell it to other WoW fanboys so you can pay for your WoW subscription and watch WoW dying. Seriously have you even seen 3.2?

And grow up. Bunny Hopping doesnt make PvP good!

Seriously guys listen to yourselves. OP is pointing things out that he thinks the game needs in order to be even more skillbased (as you hopefully want, cuz why else do you want a PvP game?), and it just happens to be that some of these things are in WoW, but guess what, they are in many other mmo's aswell. RNG is the complete opposite of skillbased gameplay, thats a fact. Geez you all sound like little kids :p

How is that any different from WoW non-arena pvp? It's not.

I used to play WoW a lot before arenas came out, and I took the effort to stock up on speed potions and free action potions. They put me at a serious advantage and it was very fun, funny that.

Your consumable argument is flawed, but your other arguments concerning the RNG are more valid. I agree, I don't like the extreme randomness of some of the things you mentioned.

Still, your post smacks of "Aion sucks because it isn't WoW". You sound pretty satisfied with WoW, I'd recommend sticking with it. The problems you outlined were all in WoW until very recently and Blizzard fixed them. What makes you think NCSoft won't do the same?

As for Abyss points being a grind that loses your life... this is what convinced me you never played WoW in the early days. Look up the original WoW pvp ranking system sometime.

Ok.

RNG = Random Number Generation is present, even in the beloved WoW to some extent. Unpredictability is what balances this game out. The goal is fun, not whose E-Peen is bigger. Who wants a fight where one person can predictably win? Predictability is boring and gets stale fast. This is why so many people are fed up with WoW.

Simplicity = Wrong again. OP clearly does not have an understanding of the combat mechanics and reactive gameplay involved in Aion. I dont need to say more.

Broken = Hypocracy at its best. I can remember so well when WoW had ****** cooldown times and annoying, broken skills etc. Do I really need to comment.

Is that good enough an answer? Now please lock this POS.

The OP has some valid concerns though. Perhaps you Aion fans should stop being so close-minded towards WoW as well... It all just reeks of hypocrisy when you call him a close-minded fanboy...
But I never was a big fan of PVP sooo I'll exit this thread stage-right.

So don't reply, and us who want a constructive discussion can post. What ever happened to the rules on the front page saying don't flame? This is stupid, some of us actually wants to talk about this, and you who doesn't, go to the chit chat forum and bash eachother.. /facepalm

I agree with what you just said Jflanden, but I am still waiting for an answer to my question.

One thing worth mentioning in wow pvp is, Shadowfrost S5 (yes, they let it go on for a whole season) and RMP since arena was invented. Very .. versatile pvp in the 3v3 ("official" blizzard arena bracet, yes?)

Wrong. Nobody is going to be running around with consumable buffs on all the time. It's just like your WoW really, you realise that has consumables too? Yet you don't see fully potted up people all over the place. You might see someone chug a healing pot in a close fight to tip the scales in their favour, that kind of thing. I fail to see a major difference between the games in that respect. I know WoW has a 2 elixir limit, but people don't even reach that.

Actually, you could say WoW is even more in favour of consumables, because it has flasks which persist through death, the only economical choice for a PvP situation where you'll be dying a bit ..

I don't see why people complain about consumables, if you had any idea how many HP flasks I used on my warrior in BGs simply because it makes it more fun, I have more HP which is more time to get healed which gives me more time to poon downies.

I've seen people chug FAPs in my ranking career so much that it felt like they wouldn't live a minute without them

Aren't we still pre-release? How are we comparing the PvP of a well established 4/5 year old game with a pre-release game? I know, I know the CN version, but thats totally unmodified. Come back and compare WoW now with Aion in 4 years - after several expansions, tweaks, updates and new content. Then we can see if people use the same combos and fight in the same way.

Till then its like saying, hey look, that baby there is hitting his rattle against the sides of his crib - why isn't he playing the drums like Lars from Metallica?

Its been out since November 25? or something 08.

Don't come with that BETA or pre-release ****, if this game was in beta it would an invention of stability.
