I play WoW. preemptive in before "go back to wow"

According to this site that makes me lazy, spoiled and a Blizzard fanboy.

If I say anything bad about Aion, I get jumped and called names. Is this really how you want the community of your beloved game to appear to outsiders?

Now that we've got the name calling out of the way, possibly we can have a mature conversation? So, in a typical thread I get told to go back to WoW and that Aion is the superior, better game. The real sad thing is, this is said by people who openly admit they've never played WoW. This will happen in this thread, just wait. It will make you laugh when you read it. Someone will say that I'm seeking attention, they are ABSOLUTELY CORRECT! I want these issues corrected. I want these problems addressed.

I'm going to say something bad about Aion and I hope I don't get in trouble from the fans who support NCSoft and Aion don't jump me and digitally beat me up for it. I'm already bruised from posting on this site and my digital ego can't take much more of it.

Aion crashes.! gasp

It's bad. It's game breaking. I haven't heard anything from NCSoft short of the automated e-mails everyone gets. Two months ago I heard "we'll get back to you and we're looking into it"... I'm pestering this site because the official one has not given me anything. E-mails to NCSoft give me automated responses and when I try to call I get a busy signal.

That was two months ago.

Now since I come from WoW, I'm used to technical support. Let me show you people what I find to be, superior, not perfect technical support.

Um, I can call the 1800 blizzard number and get a human on the phone in about 10 minutes.

If I go post on the Blizzard forums about a valid customer support concern or technical issue, I get a blue board manager responding within minutes. Provided my concern is valid (like a .dll crashing the client). If I don't get a blue (GM) response, someone from the community will typically have an answer for me.

If you're unfamilar with the blizzard forums, let me familiarize you with them:
World of Warcraft - English (NA) Forums -> Customer Service Forum

This is customer service. This is where, if you have a gripe, you can come here and kew kew about it. The little blue image next to the post means that a GM has responded.

Now... lets go look at Tech Support:
World of Warcraft - English (NA) Forums -> Technical Support

Along the top you'll see a list of threads that have the sticky icon next to them. This means that they are of interest to everyone or common questions and concerns. They even have one of "known common issues with the latest patch etc..." where they address the known issues. They relay to the customers that they are working on the problems. It also has a MASSIVE list of how to fix known issues.


Now.. on to Aion's forums...

This is the "Known Issues" forums. I think this is the place where if a question is asked and it's in the wrong place, the thread gets dumped here. I can't seem to find posts of any Devs or GM's here. Lots of issues, no communication.

Again, I looked through these forums for about 10 minutes. I couldn't find a single GM post.

Also, I looked on the home page. Nowhere could I find a "we're working on it" area. I'd like to see that.


Next.

It's not hard to kill the mobs in this game. I've got it down to a science where I can kill a mob of equal level in under 6 seconds. I even got my gear up so that I can cut that time down to 5.75 seconds. Now... I've learned my class, I understand the game and I've followed the story line.

In terms of character development, why do I need to kill so many of these damned things to be good? In what way does this develop me? I see this as, NCSoft trying to drag me out in a game that really has nothing to it. The game is easy, easier than WoW. MUCH EASIER THAN WOW. Where is the difficulty here? Why am I called a carebear when I want to play a more challenging MMO?

I'm going to close this thread with this.

I came to Aion to replace WoW. I thought it would be a better, more superior game. It looked as though it had potential to be the "lolwowkiller". It had it, but when I got here and started playing, I began to realize why WoW is so good. Why it has so many players and why people go back to it time and time again...

It's a really good game. It has really good support. I is challenging if you chose to make it one. I would like to have Aion follow the same suit and give me an alternative to play. I do enjoy Aion but these things above will break it for me and I'm not the only one.

If you read this thread, please read the entire above post. I'm not bashing Aion and this is not an "I'm Quitting" thread. This is a complaint about their lack in customer service and a small gripe about character development.

And there is nothing difficult in WoW outside the latest raid content and Arena pvp. For people that dont want to do Arena or high end raids the game is trivial and there is no real progress.

There's nothing difficult in Aion, period.

You've just given Aion two demerits against itself. Give me 1 difficult aspect of Aion. Please don't say leveling, that's not hard, it's just painfully long. The time invested into leveling does not equal difficulty. Don't correlate the two.

And about the WoW Journey, I highly disagree, right now WoW is about to launch Icecrown Citadel which is the most anticipated dungon to ever be released in the 5 years World of Warcraft. The leveling process in WoW was fun. In terms of story, are you seriously trying to compare Aion's story to WoW? Please don't I don't want to play that game in this thread. WoW is superior in terms of story and this isn't an opinion.

I was getting bored with WoW for many of the things you state, this took me 5 years to get bored though. Aion did this in 1 month.

Every single thing she said was a fact and even linked with sources and it was presented in a mature and easy to read fashion. This is a area where blizz undeniably molests NCsoft, customer support. She is explaining why and how NCsoft can fix it. Its not a whine about an issue with the player (grind, the game is hard etc), but one thats plaguing the whole game and effects every one of Aion's players.

ActiBlizz has hundreds and hundreds of people in CS and tech support, why? Because they have more money than they know what to do with, so why not expand the services. This post wasn't about content, it was about customer support. It is 100% FACT that NCsoft has the worst Customer support out of ANY serious MMO company. Name a SINGLE MMO company without 24/7 support and who don't either post on their forums to help you or have a number you can call and get real help.

This isn't a opinion, Blizzard is simply league better and every Aion player should feel cheated in this regard.

I dare you. Name a SINGLE company that runs an MMO thats serious without full time support? Even SquareEnix has that and they're known for horrid support and are constantly being sued for charging customers credit cards when they're told not to.

I can deduce the following from your page and a half post:

- "I think WoW is superior to Aion in stability."
- "Blizzard offers superior customer service and Aion's customer service is lacking significantly."
- "Mobs in Aion, taken on their own are not extremely challenging."

On these points I will in fact agree. At this time NCSoft's customer service sucks mightily. The game has a few technical issues and the mobs on an individual level are not unbelievably challenging.

So where does this leave us? Do you still want to play the game? No? Great, then why are you posting here. Yes? Great, then go play it and for god's sake shut up.

Uhh SquareEnix is also another one of the biggest game publishers in the world, so yea they have a ridiculous amount of cash flow to support their customers if need be. The hitches in their support came from the fact it is a Japanese based company. More often than not if a game is made overseas its not going to have the support that a local company would have. The publishers first concern is generally its local customers, then comes everyone else. NCwest isnt even a fraction of the size of what ActiBlizz has as a support team, let alone an entire publishing localization dept. Its comparing apples to oranges, and if you cant get that yet, then you never will.

I didnt say that nor do I know one way or the other, but what I do know is they don't have the capacity that a billion dollar company has. It could also be that NCkorea doesnt care enough to support NCwest with the funds it needs to get all the GMs and support necessary... who knows.
