Ranger or Assassin

After years of playing a rogue and warrior i feel the need to be the kiter rather than the kitee, i think a ranger will offer a lot more skill based PvP. But I have a very set image of what the class should be and if it doesn't match how I think it will and should be I will probably immediately reroll to the warrior class that I cant remember the name of. I probably won't be playing the assassin class in Aion because of what i have seen/heard of the stealth mechanic.

Whilst I actually considered/consider to go with Ranger, I think the class is kinda lame. Atleast my experience with hunters from Wow, sure they're a ranged class so they should stay away like chickens.

Even so, I'd rather face my enemy face to face then run around annoying him until he stops chasing me.

dude, going by one of the movies i watched a few days ago stealth works in the freakin air!

No one is beyond the grasp of my ganking anymore!

And yes, I'll be going Assassin, contrary to what most people feel when playing a stealth based class in mass PvP, I really enjoy sneaking behind enemy lines and taking out nukers/healers alone or with a group of other stealthers.

The Assassin, Rogue, ninja and Thief classes have always been my favorite. FFxi has a ninja job that is prettty cool but it's not really like an assassin it's more of a tanking job. I hope the Assassin class in Aion will be more like rogue in wow only better and cooler looking

Assassin, swift and deadly.
It also takes some skills to actually play it. Though most classes do, I feel you need to push it a bit more when playing assassin, as you have to get behind your target.

My thought exactly. If I dont feel like its the right ranger style I like (ie if its like guildwars ranger I'll probably reroll) I will reroll as my first choice; Spiritmaster.

I really enjoy the heavily skill based pot spamming ranger builds. Cabal and flyff are some examples or ranger playing styles that I really enjoy.

No need to run around, just stand in the middle of a group of mobs and spam mega skills. <3

Gonna mix it up, i'm always a caster so now instead i'll play assassin for fast combat.

the rogue is light years more of a cowardly class than the hunter. long duration stealth? you pick off who you want to fight? i have a level 70 feral druid and in WSG, i pick off the weak looking trailing horde who's by himself just like what i see countless rogues do. you know why it's rare to see rogues in BG's get high number in damage or killing blows? cause most of the time, they are stealthed and pick/choose who to attack. and when things go awry, they vanish and run away. LOL. and they QQ'd like babies so much, Blizzard gave them Cheat Death that gives about 100% immunity to attacks that would otherwise kill him and Cloak of Shadows that is a self dispel + immunity to further afflictions. a physical dmg class with a dispel? LOL.

Ranger for me in Aion. i played assassin in L2, but the rogue in WoW is a complete different animal. a chicken like this guy would say. i certainly hope NCsoft doesn't make the same mistake with assassin as Blizzard did with rogues.

so far, NCsoft is heading the right direction because from what i've heard, the stealth only lasts 20 seconds in Aion. maybe our resident beta tester who plays an assassin can confirm.

Rogues are chickens because they use stealth? Dude, stealth is the only defense they have. Without stealth they wouldn't be worth anything. Taking down random noobs without using stealth is no issue, but try vs skilled opponents. Even with stealth we're useless vs pretty much most classes in arena, it's too weak. Every class has something to either break it (aoe, shouts) or they can already see us (perception, detect invisiblity etc), and vanish isn't worth jack lol, it doesn't work at all.

The whole reason rogues have stealth is because it's a very fragile class, atleast cloth has either pets or absorb shields / armor buffs. They rely on getting that opening shot in stealth for a good start, cause most times you don't get that attack you end up getting owned vs any skilled opponent. I've played a rogue in Wow for 3 years, so yeah I would know.

Hunters however, can kite basically any class without a problem, their damage is equal to that of a rogue (3k Multi Shot go go), they use mail, and even in close combat they can put up a fight (Lol it's a ranged class...). If they don't want to fight up close they can simply put up a trap, wooho. And oh wait, they need a pet why again? They have a pet on top of this, which is basically like a second player, hits nonstop for a lot of damage and slows you down.

I always loved ASSASIN class, i like the style
I always loked forward to play assasin classes, they are fast, they are silent, perfect class (4 me at least )
I also like duals, when I played MMO's I always played an assasin or a gladiator, so now i'm gonna choose between ASSASIN or GLADIATOR (i go 4 glad if i don't like "assy" )

Ill go ranger if not sorcrerr because I like ranged combat and I realy like stealth but Im afraid they might keep ranger's daamge very low compared to sorcerr which might cause problems at finding good partys/raids for ranger :l

I'm simply tired of hunters in WoW, though I love ranged classes. Assassins are a new thing for me, and I like the idea of sneaking in and doing damage, so it's the class for me at the moment.
