I apologize now, but i'm not entirely convinced about this...So NC Soft is known for the f2p's right? You could always buy things from them with "coins" or whatever to get stuff that made you OP. So what i'm worried about here is the whole new flight wings and how they give you an extra 40 seconds right? One can get those is you spent an extra 10 dollars....Maybe i'm just overlooking things but this definitely smells fishy of another way for NC Soft to make some quick cash... I apologize if i offend anyone with these thoughts, it just bothered me and i wanted to make what i thought known. Maybe this is for people who didn't get the collectors edition on accident or something? Idk, but whatever, giving people better things b/c they spent real money for it isn't right in a p2p game. Thats just my humble opinion.
ps: let the flame fest begin... -deathpuppet |

Other than that, something is better than nothing in game and I am satisfied with the hand-outs given considering that the game is so new to us, although I hope for something better at x-mas along the lines of Guild Wars events. __________________ I want to drink blood out of a skull

It is not so much a matter of being disappointed because I felt like I should have gotten something. I never expected any events this early in the game. I wouldn't expect there to be any events for at least 6 months and possible up to a year. It is simply not necessary to start changing up that which is still very new. No big deal.
What is puzzling is that they decided to announce this non-event a week ahead of time. That, frankly, was tremendously stupid. The best way to not have an event is to not say anything at all. Further, they put up an announcement that very clearly describes a hunt on one side and some kind of undead thing on the other. Even if it is just lore, one would expect the environment to reflect that lore if it is to be regarded as something other than an item pulled out of one's posterior. Even lore describing some kind of harvest celebration implies that the residents of this world actually do something to celebrate, like decorate or simply talk about it in the streets. Something. As it stands they created a believability gap for no good reason at all. If you are going to change or add lore, great, do it, but make sure the environment reflects that change in some manner. Simply giving away some candy in the five days leading up to the end of the month would have been fine. It would have been seen as simply a silly little gift having nothing to do with anything in game and only marginally related to a common holiday in one of the target markets. That would have been both easier to do and easier to explain. Few expected any event. Some hoped for it but few, if any, expected one. I love this game. I am enjoying it a lot and plan to play for a long while. I have no complaints about not getting something I never expected in the first place. But, the choices that were made in deciding to announce a non-event and then how to explain that choice really make me wonder if some decision maker somewhere is coming to work drunk on a regular basis. The event that completely over shadowed the "event" was all the buzz in general chat and on boards like this wondering what was going on. That should be a clue to somebody somewhere. It was, at least, a puzzling series of choices. __________________ ![]() "Democracy is to wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch." -Benjamin Franklin Last edited by VikingGamer; 10-28-2009 at 12:25 PM.. |

Alot of people are saying they didn't expect events this early after release. I apologize that I can't really say that. When the game was released almost a year ago, users were graced with an awesome Christmas event. I think that that's what people are forgetting--the game has been out a YEAR ------------------------- Quote:

I was pleasantly suprised to read there would be a halloween event so early in the game. Unfortunetly, it was a let-down. Maybe next year there will an in-game event. Christmas is coming...
