Is anyone else experiencing an oddly high number of random disconnects latey?

The last two or three days I've just been disconnecting for no reason, in low population areas, etc. No one else I was grouped with or in vent with had the same problem, I don't think. A few people in general have commented on it. It just seems like the game has been really flakey overall these last few days.

Disconnected 5+ times along with our Tank and a few others, in a span of 30 mins in Theo Labs tonight. ^_^
Luckily no Disconnects during Triorian, (2 before though >.>)

Your ISP is probably throttling you.

Happened to me twice. Ended up having to clone a MAC address off an old compy and then release/renew my DHCP. No more disconnects!

I've never been to good at technical shizz. I'm running my net off of Shaw (Canadian) on an HP. (I know, I know.)

But I never had any issues before. It's like OB all over again :S. It's not -too- often but a couple times in an hour then nothing for a few more.. repeat, etc.

Ditto, it's been pretty bad since I formatted my HD, I had assumed maybe that it had something to do with that. My other computer was doing it too, so I threw that theory out the window.

Shaw throttles too. One of my officers had the issue with Shaw when she was living in Victoria. I can try to dig up a website but it depends on how your internet connection is set up.

If you go through a router you're going to have to create a fake MAC address on the router itself (so it's not looking at your own computer). Shaw and Comcast both throttle based on MAC address. If you are a high bandwidth customer your PC (not IP) get flagged. (Best way to do it is I had an old laptop in my garage, hooked it up to my router, went into the settings, and cloned that laptop's MAC address onto the router, unhooked the laptop, plugged in my compy and no issues ever again)

It's their way to prevent "pirating." Mind you, I found this out after 6 months of Comcast "troubleshooting" my issue, 2 technicians coming to my house, bought a new router, and a new cable modem. btw the CSRs won't know anything if you try to call in and complain about it. It's a software based throttle on a top end and there's no one in their customer care group that you'll be able to get ahold of that will know what you're talking about.

Sad thing is I don't even torret (lol) I just multitask and have vent always running, skype, data streams running plus Aion when I'm playing. They thorttle high bandwidth accounts and considering I had 4 other users on my network them plus me = high bandwidth users.

My connection is set up straight to the modem. Only connection in the apartment as I live alone. My IP resets whenever I want it to, etc, I just don't know if that effects my ISP, etc.

As far as running other programs goes I've done just Aion, it crashes, all up to and including Aion, Steam, MSN, WMP, Vent, Skype, open browsers.

My machine its self isn't so bad either so I don't think that it's about being able to handle all the processes at once, especially considering the aforementioned concerning running Aion just on its own.

The disconnects aren't enough to be really bothersome, but happen enough to be mildly disconcerning.

Yea that makes complete sense...I mean because my torrents continue to DL, my internet radio continues to play, I can continue to browse, vent continues to work, my other internet apps continue to function fine, my wife doesn't encounter any problems while simultaneously on wireless on her laptop with her downloads and misc internet apps....

But yea, it makes complete sense that only Aion would disconnect. 100% ISP problem.
