More Articles?

Being that we have several areas in the forums, I think it would be neat to have articles that complimented them. I'm not saying have a columnist for each section, but for the ones with the most traffic.

Articles on how to optimize your hardware for the upcoming and Aion, ways to trick out your system to be sexy, heads up on cheap/free apps that are worth while, or whatever. I don't mean simply RSSing articles either, but original content.

As for who I think would be up to the task, I'd nominate Cynthe and Mike. Heck, there could even be a user submitted articles section.

If nothing else, it would keep eyes busy until the game came out. Just an idea.

Hey, if people want to write something and send it to me, I'm not going to stop them. You have given me a good idea, though. I plan on writing a Aion tweaking guide ASAP, even before the game comes out, based off of FarCry tweaks. I'll update it when the game finally gets released, lol.

Anyhow, anyone else have any opinions/suggestions on this? I'm really pleased, this is the first new thread in this section for a while. I love this section, but no one uses it.

A fear I have in threads like these is never being answered. Case and Point: mmofaces.com.

As for the lack of posts here, take it as a sign that things are going well.

Shoot, I have plenty of article ideas, I just don't know if people have the time, motivation to write them. Maybe I'll do one. I'll whip it up by friday and submit it to you Mark.

I think articles are definitely a good idea. I could probably do some, but I'm not sure on what.

O.o I left mmofaces a while back, because of that reason, no one or very little people seem to care, also the forum system drives me crazy. It was supposed to be converted to phbb or something like it, but never happened. But now that you mention it I'll take a look back.. -.-
But I'm not holding my breath though, it's a difficult place to work in. As for here we have a nice wiki for game articles and how to's, if you were thinking of something else though that'd be neat.

VBArticles makes for a nifty little mod. I use it on my site, just with a few tweaks here and there so it works as a review system.

I have in mind a set of articles that outline highly anticipated open source software. It would show the features of that software, it's possible competitors on the Windows/Mac side of the house, and its current status and future goals. As all the software I'd be reviewing would originate on Linux (though wouldn't be exclusive to it) I was thinking about calling the series " 'Nix'd ", a threefold play on words: First of all, Linux is often referred to as " 'nix ". Secondly, if something is nixed, it's destroyed, or pwned. Third, I figure if people switch to the reviewed software, they've been "linuxed". What do you guys think?

What do you mean by dead? I don't know about the status of the commercial version, but there's a free version that works just fine on vB 3.6.

Eh, I don't really need it, plus it's in the mod archive (for dead mods). I can create custom pages in CMPS if I really need them for articles. Thanks anyways.

I need to go to bed now. Work at 10 tomorrow morning. Freakin' sick of waking up early to go to work, damn it.
