Asmodian/Elyos split

Let me preferance this by stating that I love the people on thsi site and the goals of teh site itself.

Spliting General Discussion into Asmodian and Elyos is prolly the worst thing I've seen done here. There was a thread suggesting you do that, and it was overwhelming populated with people saying NO. General Discussion is just the, a general discussion. When i talk about a game i wanna talk about it with everyone.... Now its just harder to find all teh game information you're looking for, you dont get as much discussion cuz some people will only check their faction and theres a lot of un-needed childishness wiht the Asmodian-Elyos bashing on both sides. Before it was just a funny poke here and there, now we have hate posts in each others forums. What i really liked about this site was it included the whole Aion community and was set up very userfriendly to access all teh information you could ever want.

I really liked how nice everyone was on this site and how friendly and helpful the community was.... I would really hate to see it turn into a bunch of idiots chewing each other out.. which is exactly whats already started happening. AND its already hard enough to explain to new peopel that asmos and elyos arent good and evil... now its harder -_-

No, they WERE just jokes tossed into normal conversations. Now you have people posting with teh sole reason of makeing fun of each other which leads the retarded 4 year old behavoir.

I agree with Fayeth, no real need to segregate, why not just leave it how it was and let everyone just talk?

I think it was probably done to compensate for forum growth. I'm not sure about that, just seems logical. With that said, I didn't have a problem with both factions being in the same areas. As well, a little jab here and there isn't bad as long as it doesn't get out of hand. I see Fayeth's concern though. We don't want the Aionsource boards to turn into the hate fest like the Blizzard forums. Even when I played WoW extensively I hated going to the boards because of all the childish comments and hate.

I'm just testing the subforums out right now. As it is, I don't like how they look in the new skin. I don't like how they're huge at the top of the General Forum's page. I don't like clicking them to see what's inside.

I will say this though: there will be a "Servers" forum like the "Guilds" forum with subforums for each server.

Voted no simply because i don't like deviding discussions. The new subforums are a haven for spam. Never good.

Oh, and, by the way, the poll means nothing. It's just an easier way to view the popular opinion. Just because one option has more votes than another doesn't really mean a thing.

I think you are over-reacting on that point. I say yes to the new sub-forum split but only at certain respected conditions:

-Used wisely(So mod's you clean the crap :P)



Oh and I do not see the point of a Balaur section, they are NPC's, although they do have a big role in Aion I don't think they actually require having there own section. When something happens involving Balaur's I would rather write it on one of the side's races portion.

I do agree that the whole "Which race is more L337" is not really needed but everyone must be in over-helming joy after seeing the G-Star trailer which included sweet action from all three sides.

I think seperating the site between elyos and Asmodian is a good idea- At the begining there should be a screen that says pick your Faction -

If you click Elyos you go into the forums with all Elyos photos classes videos and discussions .

Same for asmodian ^_^.....


After all there is NO point for elyos and asmodians to talk about stuff....

Example...

If Elyos is talking about an elyos quest or skill what is an asmodian going to comment on?



and who wants to watch videos from opposing factions??

I think it would be such good idea making it more immersive for us.

Well I just don't see a point to segregate both factions, it may divide the community which is already pretty great as it is, or most won't even bother to post there preferring the general forum and those who do will either be completely ignored because no one goes there, or they'll go to post a racial jab and so on.. I'm just worried they'll become ghost towns or troll baits.

Then again I may be completely wrong and this turns out to be the best thing evar.. ^_^;;
One thing just occured to me though, they could be good places to post quest guides, boss guides or PvP, PvBalaur strategies.

I think there will eventually be enough faction-specific content (such as quests, missions, and maps) to have Asmodae/Elysea forums, but the Balaur doesn't seem necessary. An "Abyss" one might be good later on though, where people can talk about their pvpve strategies or whatever. This way the forums are by area instead of faction. Very subtle difference I know =\.

The random faction bashing has got to go though. I realize some people just do it for fun, but it can easily get out of hand and it will certainly get worse over time. There are also some people that just aren't good at recognizing/taking jokes online.

In other words, beat the **** out of eachother in game, not the forums .

Crap. Well, I deleted the Balaur forum without moving the threads and now those are gone.
