Aionsource improved ?

Before i registered i visit Ainosource many times, the forum wasn't active like today. i think Ainosource is moving in the right way ,that is why they got best mmo fan site , but i think there are few problem like page load !! i wish if there are any way to solve this problem ! .

Hi alz3abi!

I think the site has improved. Before it was merely a forum, now it has some added functionality; the front-page has a news system, we have a much improved gallery system. So in that respect I do feel the site has improved twofold. In regards to loading time, I think you have to sacrafice a little loading time if you are going to add more SQL queries to your site. Like you said, the sites community is constantly growing, we have lots of active members and this too can effect the loading time a little. I noticed you live in the Dubia region. That could play a big factor in your page load. I'm guessing the site is hosted in the North of America or Western Europe (I could be wrong), this could be the reason for a longer page-load.

Either way I think with the site being community orientated it has abig future. It promotes itself as the first english speaking fan site, that could be a major role for its success. Aesthetically I think the site is kinda lacking. It uses the same template as many of the other Curse Network sites do with a simple change in colours and images. This means the site greatly lacks in Identity.

Whilst the site is still developing its main content front-end, a majority of the site is still forum based. The forum is vBulletin, which I think is the easiest site to integrate within a Content Management System or a custom-made article system. I think whilst Aion is still not released, this method of using the forum as the sites main directive will work. When Aion is finally released, the site may have to look to have a much more powerful homepage so it can host things as a collective and then integrate the forum.

I think the site has improved though!

Yes, please. It loads much faster now, for me. But I'm in America, and so is the server. The server used to be in the Netherlands, I believe. And it was shared. This is a dedicated server.

Well im in the Netherlands, thats a long way from America and the site is pretty fast for me.

Yeah, I definatley think it's alz3abi's location. I'm in the UK and it still loads perfectly fine.

It pings at around 90ms, which is reasonable. It isn't slow atleast..

guys i ment when i open any topic, everything freez for few second then come back to normal. i have good connection, maybe the problem from site style ?

The website is definitely moving in the right direction. But I always have some suggestions for improvement. We have a well organized, clean website, with a dedicated fan base. Aside from the uncommon uninformed poster, we have numerous high quality members here who contribute to intelligent discussions. I recall being on Diablo3.com (now Diablofans.com since Blizzard bought the domain), and it was filled to the brim with flamers, idiots and generally unfriendly people. The polar opposite of AionSource.

The site is definitely improved in terms of speed as well. No problems at all.

If your PC is very old, you might consider upgrading it some . This site is not very intense to load up, so your PC must be very old if that's the case.

You might also think of upgrading the version of your browser, if you use an old one.

I voted no, sadly that's just what I think now... The actual website is amazing; the best English Aion fansite by far, and among the best MMO websites too. The server is amazing, and the website is very well put together, and more is to come. This is not what's bad, what I feel is bad is actually some of the members here... It sucks, but I feel it's already reached the point at which the majority of idiots are just allowed to freely express their stupidity. A lot of the debate here is among the worst I've ever seen. I'll probably be hated for this post, but yeah - that's what I feel. Of course the community has a lot of very awesome members too, too many to list, but everybody knows who you are. I'm not saying the community here sucks, as I'm still here, so I obviously like it enough to stay, but I feel it's far from improving.

Spent ages writing this post! Writing coherently is so much easier when sober...
