well this could be valid for newer ppl join ..but normally the people the contribute more its more visibile in lets say "technical" thread /section so this can be more already a parameter for making a kind of selection
so this can include rank like : translator /tester/ or whatever people that help with wiki faq at least this is the way i tend to handle community ![]() |

I don't know, I didn't had any part in it
![]() But anyway, you cant judge someone just from his post count, a user with 100 well thought out posts can be more useful then one with 1000 one line posts. So, Mark, your job to come up with a system better then post counts ^_^ |

It actually looks pretty good to me. I imagine some (or most?) of the factors wouldn't work retroactively, but that shouldn't be a big problem.

No, they do (work retroactively). Just gotta run a maintenance script or two.

The only thing I can think of that might be bad is if it takes up additional space off to left of every single post. I've seen similar experience things that did. Would it be fairly simple to just show people's stats in their profiles and then have the titles be based off of their overall level? It sounds like it's pretty flexible, anyway.

I'd manually modify the damn thing if it messed with the postbit any. I like how the postbit looks right now. Anything more would be a travesty.

Yeah, I agree. Another somewhat related thing is that the reputation feature is hardly getting used. I think it would help if it were talked about in a news article, probably at the same time as vBE is announced (if it does get implemented).

well i do not mind if someone has a higher rank than me....in the end if someone is active and creates good threads he/she will be respeckted by the others due to that and not due to his lvl but it would be nice to have this vBExperience 3.7.12 - vBulletin.org Forum

maybe a system with both account status as is now and post count so the older members would receive a higher rank but if some one has more post then the can out rank the older member jr member gets lv 1 every 100 post gets you lv up and older member would be rank 3 with out counting post but they do have a lot of them some one like me would be lv 12 on this system

Yeah, it's like that already. You get an experience point for every post. It looks like it's set for 2 experience points for every day since registration. Mark can change the values around if he wants I believe.
The only thing I've notice so far is that it's counting posts from all the sections, including "everything else." So the posts for vBExperience is different than the post count we've been using,

I'm tweaking the darn thing still. It currently doesn't affect your user title/usergroup/user rank at all.
And yes, I can tweak the points given for each action on the forums. And no, the off-topic forums aren't being counted, or shouldn't be being counted. I'll check. For now just regard vBExperiance as a feature still being tuned. No big deal, I'll let you all know when it's finished.
