Changing the ranking system?

It looks like it's counting posts from all of them, but not threads created in the offtopic areas.

Umm, also, views of threads you've created also give you points. So if you make a thread that's been stickied and has a ton of views then, well, you're in luck. That means a ton of points. Reputation points and action in the vBulletin Blog system counts too. There's tons of ways people earn points. I'll list them eventually.

if you want to add this new system i do not have a problem with that but do our members not appreciate and respeckt certain members who post interesting stuff even without analytic lvl or whatever ? in the end it is up to the community to respeckt the members...

Ah, I've got it figured out now. I thought it was counting all of them because it's giving me less than twice my number of posts (by post count). But the post count isn't entirely accurate because some posts were probably moved into the graveyard or offtopic forums - after they had already been added onto the post count. So that's why the numbers don't match.

Christ, scrap the whole thing and just get rid of titles.

Then there can't be any whining over this person has this rank and I don't crap.

Its a dam forum for a game that isn't even out yet not a place to stroke your e-peen.

List everyone as members including former subscribers and save yourself the headache. I subscribed to support this site not to get a title.

Just use titles for admin, mods and NCSoft staff.

I second that. Although I know that the majority probably won't like that.
Titles should only be for mods or those special people. Like Jameinkaiser that translates stuff.

Usually I don't care about titles and how many posts I have. But when I looked at the rankings, my mind suddenly went "Oh damn, I need to post more stuff to get a higher lvl". I had to slap myself out of it.

Interesting. I'll consider removing the old subscribers' titles. And I didn't want vBE to be looked at as another postcount-type system. I wanted people to reference it to see who was the most helpful/useful/prolific members of the forums. At least it's just an experiment and not something we have to keep.

It's a good thought, but people tend to strive for the cool titles. I agree with Diablo either give everyone custom titles (been member of a forum a long time ago who did this, it was fine). Or remove titles and give us generic ones, or give us both as seen on Dreams in Vana'diel forums.

i would say and suggest for the sake of your mind health skip this ...there is no way to make all happy ...so just choose what you think suits better for the style of this community and skip comments and critique.Just my 2 cents or less
