Changing the ranking system?

I was hoping that perhaps the ranking system could be a little more steep, maybe a higher post count requirement for the "Senior Member" title. I also think that another rank above Senior Member should be added to those who meet a post requirement and a certain amount of reputation. As the forums become bigger and bigger the titles will mean less and less and many will spam to easily achieve the "Senior Member" title without really working for it and not spending a lot of time adding insightful information to their posts. By making the Titles hold more weight, when the game actually comes out people can trust those with special titles to point them in the right direction.

Maybe the titles should be a combination of everything. Join date is nice, but lurkers would get titles for no reason.

Nobody uses the rep system, so any excuse to make people more accountable for their actions will be a good thing.

Making titles depending on the post amount will cause a lot of spam I guess... ;p
At least I made a lot of experience with that ... haha
though this forum has enough threads who are perfect for spamming... so the spammers could go there and spam so they won't disrupt the more "useful" threads - therefor I wouldn't mind a post depending system.

But how is it atm?

I think it is post dependent.

If you guys are concerned that people will just "spam" their way to a title, just exclude the ChitChat section from the post counts.

I also agree there could be a bit more and different titles, a bit more ehm Aion ? like =) I don't really call "member" a title.

Reputation should definitely count for your title. Now it's heavily NOT used on the forums. The forum needs some new titles ASAP. You just need to know what post is from a quality member and it's worth reading and which is not.

Chit-chat already doesn't count.

Didn't we have a discussion about this recently?

Anyhow, yeah, I'll do something about the titles. Perhaps remove them completely. As it is the only way to set titles is through post counts. I think there's a mod that'll let me do it based on other factors, though.

imho i dont like the postcount system cause normally, this will lead more to spamming then else for me would be nice to have a kind of system based on contribution

but how do you monitor contribution aside from posts?

It'll be impractical to have someone just counting which posts are worthy of recognition and which aren't.

I think posts are fine ... but the join date could also be taken into account.
