Slightly off topic, how many Curse admins are there? I've only noticed my fellow scandinavian Zyuu.
Back on topic. Hey guys take it easy it's a fan site come on, enough with all the drama. I don't mind flaming if people can do it in a not too serious way with a bit of humour, then it can actually be rather funny. And if people are asking too annoying questions then just ignore them if you haven't got anything but an insult up your sleeve... hopefully the new system will cut down on repetitive questions.

Also, another feature you guys might like: the "ignore user" feature. It's in your User CP. If you don't like someone, ignore them! You won't see any of their posts and stuff, it's great.
Credo, other than Zyuu there's Kody (busy guy), Curse himself (busier guy), Garhtilk (Warhammer fanatic), and some other dudes that helped design the skin but don't drop by often. All in all, not many Curse people here and even less moderating. They have a few fingers in the cookie jar, so to speak, but not a whole hand. Their hands are too big and busy to stuff them both in an Aion-branded ceramic jar at the same time. Lots of jars, lots of fingers. ![]() I have no idea what I just tried to say. Either it's the best metaphor I've ever come up with or it's the worst. I'm leaning towards the latter.

I've been playing Requiem Bloodymare lately to pass the time, and check in on the main site's forum once in a while to look for FAQs, see what changes have been made, kill time, etc.....and let me tell you, five minutes in there and all the flame wars, general stupidity, trolls, and downright faction wars between paying and non-paying players make me want to bash my head against a wall. Sadly, most other gaming forums are like that too.
Then, I come here and it's like a breath of fresh air. People are mature, intelligent, respectful, usually very helpful and sometimes pretty funny. In general the admins do a great job, and even if not always...hey we're all human. Yes new users postings the same threads over and over again can get annoying, but at least here they aren't flamed into oblivion for daring to ask a question. I guess I'd rather not have too many arguments here, because it's just so easy for a forum to devolve into nothing but flame war after flame war. I bet it's an insanely delicate balance to manage to keep things open and loose enough to have good arguments and conversation, but not be so loose as to let things go downhill into flaming and trolling. I think AionSource has so far maintained that balance very well.

Yeah, my legs are still sexy. Always have, always will be. However, my new love is my lower arms/forearms. I wish to have arms like Franky from One Piece.

1) The only laws that apply to me are Austrian laws. Citizien of Austria --> Austrian Law. Citizen of America --> American Law. Got it? Easy enough? You often claim you value all your visitors on AIONSource, but you obviously didn't even read what's written below my Avatar. I might do so.... As they did themselves? You obviously didn't think about that fact. QED. Quote:

3) EU laws are only being written, and are not binding as of yet. Again: You obviously don't know what you are talking about. Quote:
2) Would you kindly refrain from making personal attacks? This is a discussion, and sentences like these only make you look like an AI. Quote:
Take a look at what people post on curse.com - there's no reason to be so scared. And FYI, I made a hardcopy of this reply in case I'm gettting censored again for no reason, or you accidentally click the "delete" button.

There is something to be said for admins that don't know members well enough to tell joking from non-jokes. Consider the amount of traffic the forum gets from people that don't know the personalities of the people here. While alot of the people that post here on a regular basis might be able to tell the difference, to the outsider it could come across as a very negative environment and drive people away or prevent new members from joining.

If you do make a site with a certain type of content, I'll be happy to support you. But what you wont be able to count on is the support from NCsoft. Do you get the jist?

To be honest, though, an "official" forum would probably be even more strict than AionSource.com. An unofficial Aion fansite would probably be less strict than us. We're right in the middle, the sweetspot. ![]()

An official NCSoft forum imo would be free for all, anything goes...or we would be left with an Aionblah (I think a lot of L2 players will migrate to Aion when it's actually out, they are just too busy botting right now to notice).
This whole things is just a suckup to hope Aionsource lives strong after Aion is released, which is totally understandable. But I would hope Aionsource will not take this strict approach when the game is actually out...atleast not in the server discussion forums...politics and flaming should be allowed there, but not elsewhere. |

Politics, yes, that's completely normal for server forums and would be allowed. Flaming, however, is a different story. The term "flaming" has negative connotations. As long as people don't make arguments personal then things will be fine. It's when people are being attacked instead of players, then moderation is needed. Aion is a game, I don't want to see people arguing in the Aion server forums about things unrelated to Aion.
But first, let's see how many servers NA and EU Aion gets and what their names are! ![]() I really doubt NCsoft would let that happen.

We have yet to discuss the plans on how the server forums will be supervised. Our current moderation of AionSource is not very strict, but I can see the potential in allowing arguments and server politics only on the server forums. Come what may, we're too far away from the release right now, so it will be something we will talk about in due time, as soon as we know more about this (close to retail) we'll make a announcement.
As for the "this whole thing is just a suck up" comment; no it is not, a well moderated community actually encourage people to post and contribute, while communities that doesn't care scare away most people and the only ones who remain are the trolls.

Anyhow, we're pretty far off-topic now, talking about server forums and politics and whatnot. Let's save this for another day, shall we? If anyone has an important message to make, PM me. My box is always open.
