I'm hoping for faster spell casting and spell crit. I don't think we would be able to use heavy armor...other classes wouldn't have the advantage anymore if we got that. What would warrior classes use; cloth? XD

I think people have the wrong idea on the Stigma system. Not much has been said but I doubt they would let you equip the gear and the weapons of you're choice without any penalities. If that's the case then there's no need of classes.

I know what you mean. I was thinking about the system, but I just assumed that you couldn't do EVERYTHING, since certain things may not make sense. The penalties adds more variation though.

I plan on going Sorc. I played several classes in L2 and WoW and always like the nukers best. They always seem to have utility skills for all diff situations so if you can play the char well there is hardly a time when you are completely helpless. This is a classes where skill can show and cause you to win more often than not.
And yea they look sick as hell when casting and have amazing spell effects. I am really digging the spellbooks because it actually fits with the lore of sorcerers. I think orbs would be a cool weap for them too and I remember them saying something about orbs for mages in Aion...not sure though. I also think the Gladiators and Assassins look great as well but that will be my alts later on down the line.

So far the sorcerer seems like a very appealing class to me, though it remains to be seen whether it's really my cup of tea. I rarely play nuker classes or even casters in general and tend to gravitate more towards heavy melee fighters or tanks.
I guess it depends on how the class plays in practice. Nuke and CC sounds simple on paper but it doesn't really say much how it feels to play in PVP. If I don't feel really powerful, like I'm sowing death and destruction on a massive scale, I'll probably end up rolling a gladiator for the Incredible Hulk factor. I just love the concept of going GRRAWRRRRR!!, throwing myself at the enemy and hacking it to bits in a raging frenzy. Obviously only two-handed weapons, preferably swords or axes, are allowed with the possible exception being dual wielded one-handed axes. One-handed swords and daggers are for girls. :P That is why I rolled warrior rather than mage in WoW. The spell effects are really pathetic, I wanted to blow up my enemies, not toss glowing pieces of coal or snowballs at them. The warrior on the other hand was excellent for ME SMASH!! /roar. ![]() |

Actually it has been mentioned by CBT players that a mage can wear plate armor if they so choose, but they will not receive any MP bonuses.
They did also say that mages were quite weak against rangers in PvP, so maybe wearing a plate suit against a ranger would be a better def option (if of course no major penalties applied). Heh sounds dumb me saying that in my head, but meh ya never know.

I just hope aion doesn't look too corny. It is like anime after all lmao Quote:
classes that are hard to play? what more fun can that be?! Now, if aion adds fancy items to use in pvp I think I have found a permanent home.

The flashy skills and utility are what draw me to the sorc class right now. I definitely am 99% for sorc and 1% for ranger. We'll have to see, but the latest hd class intro vid for asmodians has pretty much sold it for me.
