The first video seems to show the ultimate skill of some classes. The sorcerer skill looks good when he casts it but it turns out to look like a bunch of fireworks hitting the land >.>

I think mages need SUPER DOOPER POWAH GLOVES!!!! Lets you cast using two hands instead of a lame book in one of the hands or a stupid piece of tree in the other. Plus the gloves would magnify attack powers and such...and glow maybe...

What MMOs are you talking about? The majority of MMOs don't allow mages to use a shield.

As long as the robes look cool, which these do so far, I prefer robes on mage archetypes. I sort of like the book idea, simplicity isn't always a bad thing. The quality of the casting animations I've seen are making weapon aesthetics a non-issue for me with this class.

I hate looking like hooker in female mage set... Or like pimp for male... There is nothing magical about it. No runes no magic no nothing... In this matter I don't like the assassins here neither, they don't look like tugs by no way. The book is very cool, but I can think about thousands of ways the casting animations to look cool with staff too. Look at the gladiators, you see their polearms from miles, or the rangers with their cool bows

A staff can give quite an impressive look and uniquenes to the sorcerer class. And this does not require to exclude the book.

Don't get me wrong, staves would be a nice addition for casters and should be able to be implemented easily, I just don't think it will be a game breaker for me.
