Lvl 10 + Mana

Hi, i've been told sorc is a good class for leveling fast, i'm enjoying the spells but there is something i'm not liking much.

I go oom quite often, siting down takes way too long to get it back, i know there are things such as mana pots, mana treatment and absorb energy. But do the mana issues ever go away or will it be like this for the rest of the game? And tips or help would be great, thanks

Also while im here, what would be the best spells to use to kill mobs? I usually cast icechain,frozen shock, flame bolt, blaze and repeat, using root or erosion when needed. Is this right?

It gets easier later on... for now just make sure to use absorb energy as soon as it's off CD, even if you're fighting just use it inbetween spells. Also, once you reach lvl 13 use Robe of Earth... it doesn't feel like it does much at first but you'll notice it after a few minutes, your mana seems to go down way slower (it's actually not, you're just regenerating it at a faster pace).

Once you get to 20 your mana problems should be almost non-existant since you get a free Lumiel's Wisdom after finishing your stigma quest... just put that at the start of your rotation or after a Delayed Blast for halved mana cost of spells for 15 secs.

Later on your spells will start to cost a lot of mana, but you'll also get Gain Mana and Soul Absorption, both 5 min CDs but that help offset the difference (specially the first one). So, to answer your question... No, it won't be like that for the rest of the game, you will have to chug the occasional mana pot but sorcs are pretty efficient with mana when compared to let's say... SMs (and even some melee classes like Assassins and Chanters).

Hi! If you want to grind faster, mana pots are the way to go. I hit 16 on my cleric in one sitting from chugging mana pots. That of course is if you want to "buy" non-stop grinding.

As you level and get gear, you'll get stuff with more +mp and you'll be able to go longer between rests.

As far as spell rotation, just start with ice chain to slow them, and the rest is up to you.

You blow through MP fast early on because you start off with major mana eaters anyway with no safety net to soften the burn. 1-10 was a wild ride. I'm glad I stuck through it, I almost didnt though. I couldnt imagine playing this class with that kind of mp management issue throughout the 20s and 30s.

Whaa? For me 1-10 mages are probably the easiest class to level o.O
You sit for 2 seconds and your mana is full again, and you 2-3 shot most mobs in Poeta :/

Scouts on the other hand.... ugh. Let's just say I'm happy my Assassin is now done with that stage.

Well, after 3 mobs, I was usually spent. That doesn't matter now though because I can go several hours in a grind session before having to rest. muahahaha

Thanks all! Been a weird day, got a gladiator upto 14 yesterday, but decided to reroll with my irl friend so i made a sorc, lvl 13 now. But been undecided on what to lvl, i mean sorc is so much faster but they have no cool weapons, just a crappy orb or book, where as my glad has a giant polearm. Decided to go with the sorc though despite the crappy looking weapons

learn to love potions, and learn to make money to support your crack addiction (its not that expensive if you shop smart). Roll with stacks of HUNDREDS of potions and drink em every chance you get. The money you spend will be offset by how much faster you can kill stuff.

I would only consider this after getting Zikel's Wisdom and Robe of Flame though, otherwise you're better off just managing mana and chugging a pot every now and then because kill speed would remain mostly the same. Once you get those spells it becomes a viable alternative and will probably let you grind faster if you don't mind the expenses.

Around level 42-50, you start having mana shortages again if you're not using Lumiel's Wisdom, but mana pots are really cheap at that point, so there's not much of a problem.

Using an orb that is almost impossible to get isnt a fair comparison.



Glad with the plat coin sword, but has the same skin as several other swords.

The MP management gets easier down the line, you'll see a huge improvement in just a few levels. And your rotation looks ok for your level. Try to cast erosion before your flame bolt if you'll get a good amount of time out of it, otherwise your just wasting MP by only getting a couple ticks off it.
