Is this how godstones work for sorcs?

I saw the post on what godstones to consider (Godstone question) but having trouble understanding how they work for sorcs.

I know power shards dont help us because we never actually melee and they don't work off spells.

So how are godstones different?

I don't swing my spellbook or orb. So I assume each time you cast it can go off?

I found the 1% 1880 damage one which seems more useful to pure melee since they swing and use skill a lot...

As long as spell actually inflicts damage it can proc.

Damage proc Godstones scale with M.Boost, that's why they are better for casters while melee classes prefer the paralysis/silence ones.
