Nice, but i would like to add
sm vs chanter- mix damage between spell and melee, but mostly depend on melee. They have stun 3sec but damage is weak at high level. They can't dispel slow like cleric which make them easy to kite giving the fact that they already use their stun skill. Chanter's heal is weak. with fear and disenchant burst you'll win majority all the time. Chanter becomes weak against SM when SM acquired fear.
Sm vs templar- mana potion use in duel is neccessary, without the mana potion you would run out of mana before kill templar because templar has regen hp skills and increase hp for a certain of the time. Templar damage is decently weak. They have pull skill which bring you toward the templar, but most of the time they're not working at all. you can expect win all the time with mana potion.
Fire spirit damage output is largest in pet just check fire spirit skill in armory and you'll learn the different between spirit. Water is range which mean it can't be kite and you can focus on fighting. Melee spirit if root by sorcerer will mean that you won't have 50% you damage in 20sec.

Thanks for doing this, answered a few questions I had about the class.

A quick question for you however. Are Spirit Masters able to name there Spirits? I have a vauge recollection of someone naming a Spirit in CB3. Could of been seeing things though..

Maybe i have missed something, but are we able to use more than one dot at a target? I thought our different DoTs do not stack, so we are left to: one DoT + Servant + Pet .. and not using multiple dots.

Great read, and a good start. Please sticky mods!

I'd like to suggest consolidating a little more info on Stigmas for the class in this FAQ. There is quite a lot of posts with some good info on the Stigmas for the SM around, so would be nice to include some of that for the newer players. Maybe a short list of the Stigmas and some Pros/Cons, or at least naming the widely agreed essential ones.

Lastly, I urge those people who think they know better to put up, or shut up. Contribute to making the FAQ better, or STFU and GTFO. There's other threads in other sub-forums that need your weak attempts at trolling.

We can use more than one dot on a target, unless it's the same one. For example, casting Erosion twice won't put up two erosions on the target, but will refresh the first one.
Two Spiritmasters can't have the same DoTs on the same target. So if SM A casts Erosion, and SM B casts Erosion on the same mob, SM B's Erosion will refresh the Erosion on the mob, not add a second one.
This goes for DoTs from pet commands as well. Also if im not mistaken, we have 3 primary DoTs, Erosion, Chain of Earth and Wide Erosion, the rest come from pet Commands and the Servant Orb spells.

As for naming pets, there is no option for it at this time. They all come as [Player Name] Fire Spirit, [Player Name] Earth Spirit, etc.

+ for this thread, hopefully this clears up some confusion for the newcomers to the forums.

Thanks for clearing this up!

I was under the impression (i think i have read this somewhere) that we had to choose one of the DOTs according to the Situation, because they override each other. But if that is not the case, my enthusiasm for SMs just rose a little more

Hehe no problem. The pets are what you have to choose depending on the situation, also the Servant Orbs, i'm still a bit hazy on their debuffing function though so I can't clarify anything on that end.
