for a male SM each elemental is embodied as a women they would be sort of vaded parts of them see thru but you can still see there outline and they would have auras... Fire: right leg and arm on fire hair too Air: leaves circling around the right leg and arm and around the head too Water: water swirling up and down the right arms and elgs and the hair is a waterfall Earth: roots for hair rots wrapped aroudn the right legs and arms. for Female the same as above but the elemental is embodied as a man... simply to make them fly you use and air spell that grants them the power to fly until you touch the ground |

Those all sound like great ideas on how NCSoft can improve aion for spiritmasters and their pets, but as I was reading about the summoning pets, our water has a very large range, and probably can reach air targets, but I do enjoy the idea of having a flying pet. As for pets un-summon when we get too far away, that is normal for every game that I've played. I'm not sure if our pets will be reg. based, or just mp, but either way, it shouldn't be much of a problem. As more information comes out, perhaps with enough concern about these sticky problems, the developers might add changes in an upcoming patch.

well don't forget about the addition of the grounding spell. Although that might not help you if you really want air battles and if the grounding spell doesn't allow for enemies in air to plummet to their death (by allowing monster range) and if the pet is indeed the main source of damage for a spiritmaster

This is something that needs a modern answer. For me, it's basically "if my pet can be with me all the time (includes flying) then I'll be a SpiritMaster. If not, the probability of getting screwed over in PvP by being EASILY jumpable while flying, as well as the gimping during pure ariel Abyss battles means I'll try something else."
It's really that simple. I can't see how non-flying pets works. There'll just be more and more situations in which we'll be totally screwed over time. |

Because of the probability that it will not work a LOT of the time. Like if there was a totally ariel raid encounter, do you think they're going to let the whole encounter be changed by SMs? I doubt it. Or even bosses that have "phases" where they fly in some of them. Again, likely to be made leash-immune.
And then there's getting jumped. I've played on PvP servers in multiple games, and the MOST LIKELY times to get jumped is when already in combat with an NPC, or when traveling. And if you're traveling in the air as a Spiritmaster, you're a RIPE target, as you automatically have less capability then when on the ground, so you WILL get jumped even MORE often than other classes, since basically you're a sitting (flying?) duck. If you're balanced WITH your pet, you're gimped without it, and thus gimped in PvP when getting jumped. So no, I'm not forgetting that debuff. It's a bad stop-gap measure. Ditch it entirely (or not) and let SM's pets fly, since that's the ONLY way they'll be balanced. |

If you're jumped while traveling in the air, then you debuff them to death (cancel flight, silence, slow, root, fear, etc) then you land, summon and keep the target landed. It's the only thing I can think of, and if you're wandering alone through the Abyss is your responsibility to expose yourself like that. If you're in a flying group you are of great help if you start debuffing and then kill the fallen enemies (flying is not unlimited) or nuke from the ground.
I see myself more of an assistant fighter than a main DD. Obviously it'd be better if they just let our spirits fly, but seriously I don't think it'll happen.
