i was looking at this class and i just ran into the issue of feeling like the enemy could simply just target me, ignoring my spirit, and CRUSH my face. but atleasy that is what i have experienced in playing a spirit ritualist on GW, though it may be NOTHING like it. if it was something like u cant be targeted id prolly make that an alt

I'd actually compare the SM more to the (forgive me) wow warlock in some parts. If you look at the skill list has slow movement spells 1 immobilizing move and fears its got more goin for it then that, but as always it depends on the skill of the player.

well alot of the damage the spirit master deals is through the pet so wile they are tergeting you you can CC run los or do a multitude of things wile your pet is still dpsing same the other way round i look at it as an advatage

Don't worry so many people have compared this class to the Warlock from wow because of the many similarities. wile its so similar i wouldnt figure it to be like the warlock simply because of the completely dffrent play style and customisation that Aion has compared to WoW

I really hope that the Spiritmaster will not really play too much as a warlock in wow. It was quit stupid because most of the time it was simply too overpowered and dull to play (engange all possible dots, throw fear of imbalancedness... wait till the enemy dies)

I just love summoning...i've satrted to like summons with Diablo 2, playing with necromancer and making those big army of bones XP , it's so cool command an beast and make some ranged attacks beeing safe behind your monster, and at Aion seems to be reeeeallyyy cool those summons beats, i'm going to try with this class for sure

FFXI did summoning right (IMO). It would be nice if Aion's devs take a hint and follow a great lead. Too bad it's far too late for them to making changes like that now.

In most games the summoning class is the most powerful for a number of reasons, but number one that I can think of is that can usually heal their pets and can often select the right pet for every situation. Making them a tank+priest team by themselves and extremely adaptable.

Ya I liked how ffxi did it but the whole being a sub par healer/buffer till your lvl 70(65 if you have fenrir) takes alot out of the DD aspect. I'm not saying ffxi didnt want to make them buffers/healers with some 1 hit wanders(6 Summoners 2hring NMs made me make one >.>) every min or so,but i prefer the everquest way of things to make it a true dd class.

In C4 on Lineage II the Necromancer (spiritmaster type - summoner) was by far the most powerful class in the game... you could essentially, with the right gear and buffs solo and whole party. Transfer pain skill was the key...basically everytime something hit you the skill would transfer 50% or so of that damage to your summon...was quite nice. They may incorporate something similar to that.

Necromancer in L2 is not summoner type... is Nuker type, with an "add-on" called transfer pain but they couldn't really heal the summon or do anything useful with it other than trying to hide it so you take less damage.

My fear is that the spiritmaster will either be too weak or too strong compare to other classes. Think about it, It's too easy to make this class overpowered where a person would just sit back and cast summon after a summon. Or make this class too weak where spirit master wouldn’t be able to heal their pet or something like that.
Speaking of GW ritualist they are a very difficult class to play if you focus on sprits. If you have a few min to set all ur sprits up it's a big plus, but in combat you don't have all that time to cast. Because of the limited time, by the time u set up all ur spirits the battle was over.
I will wait and see if spiritmaster is actually worth making after Aion comes out.
