Regarding Iron-Clad.
It can't be removed, as some have said, with Ignite Aether. It CAN be removed, as some have said, with Dispel magic. But no, it doesn't take "two castings" of dispel. That's retarded. Anyone who's run FT with me knows very well it takes 1 casting, and it always works. I've never had a mob resist it. Now, the problem some of you might be having: If you cast dispel, and it goes off BEFORE the iron-clad progress bar is done. You've wasted it. If you cast dispell right when the iron-clad progress bar is done. You've wasted it. There's a animation lag in FT at least on the gargs with iron-clad (and on the fire spirits come to think of it). You need to have you spell go off about 1 or 2 beats after the progress bar for iron-clad completes. In a perfect world, you'll time it so you see 1 shield resist graphic appear as your temp hits it, and then you'll see like a small explosion of dust looking animation around the mob. That's the dispel working. If you're casting it twice, then your timing on the first one was off, and you miss it. Secondly: All iron-clads are not created equal. Iron-clad on some undead are completely immune to dispel. That's an undead mob feature, not the fact your spell failed. __________________ Brilliant by Birth Devious by Design Perfect By Nature |

Edit: I am using Ignite Aether II, though. If IA I is bugged and doesn't work, though, then that should definitely be addressed. Last edited by Shmn7; 10-12-2009 at 12:58 PM.. |

Iron Clad in the Fire Temple most certainly can be removed by Ignite Aether as well as Dispel Magic, I use both frequently. Casting IA immediately after the buff appears causes it to fail however, but if you wait 0.5 sec after the buff has appeared, it will successfully dispel it. If you cast it too early and fail, Dispel Magic will work as a back-up.

Yeah, Im kinda annoyed too cause I spent fckin much stigma-shards for Ignite Aether because I thought it would be better than the absorb vitality II >>. Kinda stupid now I have to grind more shards^^. Well the skill is still nice for buff removing but the cool-down is a little to long for a spell that does 300 dmg, I could cast a flame-bolt without CD which would do like 350 dmg instead of using Ignite Aether for burst damage.

i have Ignite Aether II atm on my asmo SM, and i love it. Now for those of you who think its broke, your an idiot, sorry no offence, but to help those who don't understand how it works i got some tips. not every buff can be removed, food, drink, and mantras can't be removed by the spell. if u think the damage is gimp is probably because the target you used it on had really good magic resist or your magic boost sucks, but ive used it on chanters and taken 1/4 of their hp with it, and im certain they were close to my lvl at the time. personally i love the skill because you turn your enemies strengths into weakness.

Either the spell is broken and the tooltip is correct. Or the tooltip is incorrect (not misleading, just plain wrong) and the spell is working as intended. Either way, something needs to change. It certainly makes our later stigma sound a little less exciting.

The spell is amazing. It removes Hp regen potions. I remove Hp regen of glad, increase 25%hp of templar, Shield of a SM or sorcerer, remove running speed buff and flying speed scroll buff, remove chanters and clerics buffs. It's the skill to have like aoe fear and silence.
