Your laptop will run Aion at lowest settings, but you will experience fps droops at some points in the game. I wouldn't expect your frame rate to be higher than 40fps in any area, and I would expect it to drop to almost unplayable rates in highly populated areas (under 15 fps). |

Let me tell you about my old 256MB GeForce Go 6800 card... It can barely run FarCry based on CryEngine... (lags) nvidia Go 6800 is comparable to ATI X800. ... time to upgrade if you want to see beautiful smooth game graphic and gameplay. Oh forgot to mention about LAPTOP. Laptop is always lower than desktop when you see the same numbers and speed. For instance, my 9600M GT is a bit better than as 8600 GT one. __________________ ![]() <Legendary> legion visit at Legendary-Aion.com Aion Signature Generator at Sig.Legendary-Aion.com Our recruitment post @ AionSource Last edited by DJ-R; 07-13-2009 at 11:34 PM.. |

I know this has been done to death, but what about my Laptop's specs? Not sure if it being a laptop it would have issues, but it ran WoW fine at the higher settings.
Intel Core2Duo 2.33 GHz (T7600) 2 GB RAM ATI Mobility Radeon X1700 512mb video card It's an Asus V1 Laptop from 2 years ago. And I have well over the HD space to run it. How's it look? |

You're okay, you have decent card. You might be able to run at mid-high with x2 AA. Texture quality maybe set at 90%. Your card will compare to my friend laptop with 8600M GT. The 8 Series. __________________ ![]() <Legendary> legion visit at Legendary-Aion.com Aion Signature Generator at Sig.Legendary-Aion.com Our recruitment post @ AionSource |

Not as of yet, much to the chagrin of a couple of guildmates of mine heh... I think NCSoft will eventually do a port over to create a native Mac client but until then your only real option is to run Windows via Bootcamp (or a similar set up like Parallels) or buy a gaming rig that's Windows based. For myself I opted for the latter, as my MBP is getting a bit long in tooth and I wanted to get back into dabbling with PC hardware again hehe.

@Tamer: Regardless of what the calculations say, I've seen the level of performance my rig can produce, and it's a darn sight more than 1.86GHz.
![]() And having played CB3 on maximum everything, I'm getting FPS of 60 in all areas (except where there's Personal Shop spam, ugh) and that's only because I have V-Sync on (I find it gives me a smoother visual experience). I know where you're coming from, though - this processor should only give limited performance, and I agree completely that it's the bottleneck in my system, but I've only got an nForce 4 motherboard, so I'm restricted in the upgrades I could get CPU-wise. Then again, this IS an Alienware system from late 2005 - who knows what wizardry they used on this machine before they sent it to me? ![]() |

How accurate is the "auto detect" feature in the video settings? I haven't played the game yet but I have it ready for beta this weekend. I clicked auto detect and the screen shot is what I got. Can I bump them up just a bit? or do you think they are already a bit too high for my computer?

You can't really judge a processor based solely on clock speed. A Core 2 Duo e6300 clocked at 1.86Ghz is better than any Pentium 4 overclocked to 4Ghz. Even if you were to disable one of the Core 2 Duo cores.

I'm running the following specs:
Asus M2N32-SLi Deluxe AMD 64 X2 6000 2 Gigs Corsair Extreme dual channel 2x eVga 7900GT (SLi) 2x WD 79 Raptors (Raid 0) runs great, fluctuating between 30 - 100+fps in beta depending on area/situation On the other hand on my 2nd rig, Former BF42/WoW rig, which should run AION at bare minimals but it won't: ASUS AV7333 AMD Athlon 2700 (2.2GHz) 2 Gig Corsairs dual channel 500g total HDD HIS ATi Radeon HD 3650 AGP (nVidia Ti4600 crapped out) Won't even go to the start up screen of AION, everything is installed/re-installed. Tried some of the suggestions on these forums and it keeps coming up with "AION has encountered an error. Application will now close" (something to that affect) when it tries to go to the load up screen. All I can get to is the little AION splash screen. I'm thinkin it's the video card as the cpu should handle it at min settings but not sure. Which will suck because I just bought that VC recently and it's my wifes rig now and she wants to play AION Yeah majority of it is a 5 yr old rig but should still run it at lowest settings. Everything is telling me that it may be the VC.Last edited by Hawaiianghost; 07-14-2009 at 04:17 PM.. |
