Will this be enough? Laptop also but I wonder how smooth can game go on this, if anybody have exp... Quote:
------------------------- So I can't make new posts yet but I have something that concerns me. I just recently made the switch to Crossfire, and all the games I've tested have seen numerous ATI updates to enhance FPS on Crossfire (in particular, 9.8 makes Crysis run like butter with 4xAA @ 1680x1050, with everything on high...except motion blur cause the game pauses for a split second when I do a 180). My first new game I tried was Champions online (dled client, tried it on friends account), and immediately I could tell it was not Crossfire optimized. The recommended setting has everything in the low-medium range @ 1680x1050, no AA, nothing. So the game ran fine, and I bumped it up to where I thought it should be. And the game was in the 30FPS range, and dropped below 20FPS. Not only that, but there is an issue with the character creation process where a CPU cycle messes up and causes the processor to go into overdrive. My CPU fan was going mach 5 fast, never heard it run so loud before. Actually overheated at one point. I was thinking something was wrong with my system till I read the forums. They have stuff going through the test server now for fixes for both of these issues. Until then, there's no way in hell I'm gonna bother trying the game again (which is unfortunate cause I had a good replica of Sabin Figaro..cept the hair, they don't have the spiky top/shaved sides/pony tail style). So my question to gamers who have either Crossfire or SLI, do games ever come out of the gate with SLI/Crossfire support working fine out of the gate? If not, am I waiting for the game makers to fix the issue or am I looking at ATI to come out with new drivers? And to the developers if they know, is Crossfire going to be working out of the gate? ![]() I was fairly sure the client would do for 64bit, just wanted to make sure... don't want to have to download all 9GB again. Last edited by Crouch; 09-05-2009 at 09:45 AM.. Reason: Formatting |

Playing on a laptop
My question is, I'm playing on a laptop since I will be spending a lot of time on the road for my work. CPU speed and hard drive space are fine, however video card is generic VGA. Does anyone know how difficult it is to install a video card into a laptop since they are usually integrated?

Maybe you could look into external vga cards to see if they're an alternative. ------------------------- Quote:

What resolution you running at?
From others who have played OB, 2GB of RAM seems fine , a mid 2.xGhz dual-core processor, and 9600 does the trick for a lot of people on high and with AA. Yours sounds good to go (for 60+FPS). |

One more thing I plan on ordering this comp tuesday so I just wanna make sure aion will run mid-high on this
Newegg.com - ASUS K70 Series K70IO-A1 NoteBook Intel Pentium dual-core T4200(2.00GHz) 17.3" 4GB Memory 250GB HDD 5400rpm DVD Super Multi NVIDIA GeForce GT 120M - Laptops / Notebooks I asked the 32 bit question because it doesn't say if it is or isn't. asus.com doesnt directly say its 32 or 64 bit either. |
