Cheap Keyboard and Mouse Recommendation
Hey all.
I'm after a cheap keyboard and mouse for Aion. Can anyone recommend anything good that won't cost an arm and a leg? And by that I mean combines for under 40 pounds People seem to recommend the G15, but I can't afford that. Plus, how essential are all the features on that keyboard? Problem is I have a laptop and the mouse and keyboard on it are rubbish. Is a normal cheapish keyboard and mouse sufficient as well? All the macro buttons I keep hearing about make me feel like I need an expensive keyboard with all the fancy stuff. Last edited by Elaniel; 07-04-2009 at 02:49 AM.. |

It really depends on what you like yourself.
I can see G15 as a good keyboard but I don't like the buttons at all. Need to push them to far to get a response etc. I like this keyboard: Logitech Ultra X Premium USB Silver OEM Keyboard because you don't have push the buttons far at all to get a response. Remember it is something about taste ![]() For a mouse I use this one Logitech MX 518. Yes I use only Logitech stuff but that is because I have not been able to find other things that suits me. But if you prefer Razer or Microsoft I can honestly say they have some very good mices you can use. I used Novatech as reference as that was the first one I found on Google when searched. I'm not from UK btw. |

Well, if you want a keyboard with macros but $30 cheaper, then go with a G11. It is a better keyboard too, check our the comparison, the only thing it doesn't have is a LCD screen and everyone thinks that's useless anyways, and it has more features than the others. As for under $65... That's tough. There's a few combos here that are $59 or less. I'm not particularly going to tell you I would buy those though.
$58.99 -> G11, best gaming keyboard really $39.99 -> M500, pretty cheap but with 1000 DPI laser, 2 side buttons and hyperscrolling. =$98.98 -> 60 pounds You can't do much cheaper than that with stuff I'd claim is good and suitable for gaming. A lot of people like Razer stuff, but they're arguably more expensive. If you don't care about macro keys on the keyboard, or side buttons and/or hyperscrolling on the mouse, then you can just get completely plain ones and they will not have a problem in Aion. You don't need extra functionality for anything, they just make life easier. Going cheap on something like that which you'll be using hugely every day is a waste of money though if you ask me. Just try comparing some stuff, like on this page if you want. __________________

Thanks for the replies guys.
I ended up getting a Razer Diamondback mouse which is awesome. However, I got the Arctosa keyboard, as I refused to spend ?20 more just for lighting up. Now I wish I kinda had as the print on the keys is impossible to see. I still get the jist of they keyboard so it should be okay. |

I use a Saitek Eclipse 2, which is very comfortable and has all you need in a fairly sleek/trim design. And a decent cheap mouse... hmm, i use a MS Sidewinder mouse, but they are about ?35. I used to use a regular 5 button MS Intellimouse which you can pick up for a tenner.
I always hear everyone go on about how great the Razer mice are, but i have small girlyman hands so they ain't that comfy for me. :P |

LOL. Cheers for your recommendations as well.
I'm gonna try and take the keyboard back today and get another. I was originally going to get the Saitek Eclipse 2, but I want one future proofed with macros (once I figure out how to program them.) I think it'll be either a G11 or Lycosa I'll try and get. |
