Why is Win 7 better for games than Vista?

many reasons...for 1) vista is a resource hog-..2) driver support is horrible
When I was using Vista I was only getting 60-80 FPS ( I have a ATI 4890)
When I switched over to windows 7 my FPS shot up to 150+ FPS. also it doesnt eat up ram like vista and doesn't thrash your hard drive at random. Its more stable than vista.

Good, because you should use RTM.

dont need SP1, been using windows 7 since its beta and now using the RC. Its a solid O.S and been pushing the O.S to the breaking point and have not yet seen the infamous BSOD. one thing I like is the instantanous disconnection from the thumb drive, dont even need to wait no more than 1-2 seconds. The windows Aero is much better and file extraction is helluva lot faster than vista. yeah the UAC is still there but you can now adjust it or completely turn it off and windows won't even bother you with it anymore.

Good, because you should use RTM.
dont even need to do that
go to microsoft.com and click on the banner thats displaying "install now" windows 7. Its an ISO file so burn it on a disc or thumb drive, if your going to use a thumb drive. extract the files and set your bios to boot come the USB drive.

I am trying to burn windows 7rc onto a dvdr disc, but the disc is full, so i want to erase the things on the disc. But when i go to erase on the disc it does not give me an option to delete the files on the disc. Anyone know how to fix this so that i can delete everything on this disc? thanks

Jesus christ, how stupid are you people? Your link is to RC. I've said a thousand times that RC is older and is not intended to be updateable or accept a Retail key.
You can frankenbuild RC into RTM but it requires use of shady files and can cause unexpected behavior from Windows.
The only way to update to RTM/Retail aside from making a frankenbuild is reinstalling Windows, gee, there goes 1-2 hours of precious time.

Just use RTM, install it without a key, reset the trial as needed until you get a legit key or *alternative*. That page gives you the hash to legitimate, unmodified RTM ISOs, and if you look deeper around that site I linked you could find links to downloads of the ISOs.

You have to format the disc, you can only do that with DVD +- RW.

You don't even have to install the RC, there are releases out that are final product both 32 and 64.
I've installed it on my comp and my womans laptop. I got nothing but positive thing to say about win7 at this point.
And when it come to my girlfriends laptop it seems to work alot better with win7 then vista.
And they were fairly easy to activate aswell. (see link)
So at this point none of us would ever even considering going back to vista.
I have a logitech MX revolution and it works great

Thanks for all the info and links guys, I'm sold on RTM 64. I didn't realize it would be that easy to install, extend, and then ultimately purchase legitimately. Now I just need to find a friend with a DVD burner.

Waiting for SP1 without even knowing why is completely silly. It's like saying you won't play Aion until the first expansion pack. If you want to assume there's horrible bugs and broken things that aren't fixed on rtm/retail, I guess that's up to you.

Win xp, win 7 and then vista.

Tried aion on all with x64 no problems. Plenty articles on the nets about why and how is 7 better then vista.
If you have a new pc you're prolly better off with 7 then xp since it works better with multi thread quad core and its ready for ssd (among a lot other "new" things)
If your still running on dual core you should be better off with xp unless you have an extremely high end gpu (i'd call that 4870 and above), but in that case you should upgrade your cpu as well.

XP x64 still beats the hell out of a tweaked vista ultimate, from personal experience
