Are there any other way to download it without using bitTorrent?
Because right now, B*ell ISP in Canada is throttle all bitTorrent download down to 30kb/sec instead of 550kb/sec. For Aion 1.5 patch will be hell days to download it. My ISP is a wholeseller but all those copper lines are under Bell control. We won't have alternatives ISPs anymore very soon. B*ell is dominating the internet in Canada right now. Most Canadian will be trying to grab the patch and we will takes days to get it completed. I really hope to release the patch now to start downloading. Not at the last minute like 1 day before the Open Beta... Also in the future if those patches will always be distributed via bitTorrent or the Launcher starts to use bitTorrent... I think it's time for me to drop Aion. Not Aion fault but our Telecommunication company in Canada is being a greedy Son Of A B. There is nothing we can do. Sooner or later we will be paying $75 monthly for 5-6Mbps + 30 CAP Down/Up... That's how f*cking ridiculous those V*ideotron / B*ell company are. __________________ ![]() <Legendary> legion visit at Legendary-Aion.com Aion Signature Generator at Sig.Legendary-Aion.com Our recruitment post @ AionSource |

Why would you drop Aion just because patching is slow? Leave your comp on for a few days to download.

Other than being slow, look at the prices. I am not going to pay for that. For sure I am going to use up 250GB monthly average bandwidth.
Having a CAP of 30gb or 60gb (higher prices) won't do it. There will be another $23 max overage price if you exceed the cap. I might end up moving into offline games if anything gets worse. ------------------------- I brought up the bitTorrent because torrent download in Canada is already nyerking everyone off. and I am trying to lighten up some way to get patches. __________________ ![]() <Legendary> legion visit at Legendary-Aion.com Aion Signature Generator at Sig.Legendary-Aion.com Our recruitment post @ AionSource Last edited by DJ-R; 08-22-2009 at 01:23 AM.. Try changing Ports for your bit client... they Throttle and monitor popular ports. Or if they single out the Traffic its self you can prolly just find a Single user so it looks like a Direct Download and not a P2P pull. lots of Different options of getting around it. Alot of useful info on it if you google it. I know that sounds lame but its a good way to find loop holes and ways around it

I'm with TekSavvy ISP, their system is under Bell control because they are wholeseller. I am paying $34 right now with Throttle + Deep Packet Inspection on all of us. Which is a worst case scenario already. I'm on 5Mbps with 200gb right now and it won't be in November.
In November, our price will jack up by $25 + on top of what I am paying + there will be always Overage fee for me $23+ on top again. $25 + $34 + $23 = $82 monthly for a 5-6Mbps + 60gb cap. It might happens in November. If you guys go on DSLReports.com, there are a bunch of thread about Bell + CRTC = Corruption. CRTC simply corrupted and keeps on approving Bell plans to kill all competitor by introducing UBB. UBB acts like your Roger/Fido phones plan. Ex: You have 50min on your monthly plan, anything over 50min will charge per minute. So for internet is CAP bandwidth. They are mind f*cking blowing. B*ell better die in hell. __________________ ![]() <Legendary> legion visit at Legendary-Aion.com Aion Signature Generator at Sig.Legendary-Aion.com Our recruitment post @ AionSource |

Anyways, I think we are getting into Off-Topic.
I just hope at least Aion patches won't be on bitTorrent only. ------------------------- Quote:
Canada will have the sh*ttiest Telecommunication company in the world. For some you didn't realize right now Canada is the NUMBER 1 MOST EXPENSIVE in Telecommunication. That's includes Phones, Cellphones, Internet, Satellite, Cable, TV. I'll soon be paying with my legs and arms. __________________ ![]() <Legendary> legion visit at Legendary-Aion.com Aion Signature Generator at Sig.Legendary-Aion.com Our recruitment post @ AionSource Last edited by DJ-R; 08-22-2009 at 01:45 AM.. wow,i so feel with you. i'm actually german but moved to canada last year and my jaw dropped when i saw all the prices here. it's not just internet/phone/tv. Just the general food prices are crazy too. and Bell really sucks. atm, it's actually quite stable, but they sometimes have phases when the internet goes down every 30 minutes each day....and it takes em like...a week or something to fix it. i havent really used bittorrent lately,so i didnt know about those issues...but i guess,in emergency...just gotta keep the pc running overnight. |

its easy... use utorrent, change your port in the settings to something that bittorrent normally doesnt use. then set outgoing encryption to FORCED. then unclick "allow incoming legacy connections" they will never know you use bittorrent. for all they know, you could be streaming a video. (port 80 is the port that web browsers operate on BTW, if all else fails, you might try it) if you need more detail just ask and ill post instructions in greater detail but FYI, your DL speed with bittorrent wont ever reach your connections maximum. it is severely dependent on the people your computer decides to connect to. on average you can expect about 100kb/s for torrents. . If it's just a 2GB patch, even at 30KB/s it'll be done in 19 and a half hours. But if you're looking at 30Kb/s... ouch 6 and a half days.
Bell got split into all the baby bells in the US awhile ago for being a monopoly. Is the same company actually getting away with doing the same thing in Canada now? __________________

SHAW(corrected from rogers) internet is pretty awesome. Go with that.
Also, I doubt it actually uses the bittorrent program, the patcher will probably just start using p2p system instead. If you ever played WoW, it will be the same as the patcher most likely. Last edited by Fellshadow; 08-22-2009 at 03:36 AM.. |
