What bit torrent client are you using, have you tweaked the settings any?
There probably should be a how-to for torrents thread, but the last thread I made like that kinda disappeared into the shadows :3 Generally, default settings aren't any good for torrents. At least back in the day with Azureus (pre-vuze) torrents defaulted to a specific range of ports, which eventually got clogged up and in some cases, got blocked from the trackers. For me, I opened up a specific TCP and UDP port on my router for torrents. If it's not opened, Azureus would call it a NAT error NAT problem - AzureusWiki I used to use an outdated pre-vuze version of azureus, which I loved to death, until it stopped working in windows 7 due to java incompatibilities. I now use uTorrent and am going to stick with it. Aside from setting up port forwarding from my router, I tweaked my bandwidth settings in uTorrent a little. My DSL caps at 150kb/s download and 45kb/s upload, so I limit my upload rate to 5kb/s, global max number of connections to 90, and max number of connected peers to 55. You can raise those numbers which technically should increase your max download speed, but too much can hurt also. If there's too many connections, your router or modem can possibly crash. Also, if your computer isn't really all that spiffy, it'll get bogged down and can affect overall computer performance. It's happened to me in the past, but I also tweaked my router settings to compensate (I did it like 4 years ago and forgot what I did lol). Collapsed text:

No I haven't changed any of the settings, but I remember not doing so either the last time I used BitTorrent a few months ago and the speed was great.
![]() I'm not a torrent expert, but I think it's just the matter of 46000 peers vs 6000 seeders. |

The ratio of peers to seeders isn't as relevant as you think because you can still download sections off of peers that you're missing, just the same as from a seed. imo, the only issue arises when you're reaching the end, like around the last 10% where you're competing for the last missing parts.
Like I've been downloading a 4gb anime season with only 1 seed, I was able to get to 75% fine at my max download speed without ever connecting to that single seed. |

There's a fix to get it working, but I wouldn't recommend it just yet. Don't worry though, check back here just before open beta and I'll try to help people through it if it's still not working.

Well Like many others i'm getting the "Program is not available in your country" error. So now after reading this i'm not as worried about the waste of 60 bucks. But I'm in the military stationed in Korea, and the internet service that we get on base is through a korean company so that still worries me from hearing about ip blocks and other factors i might have keeping from playing on a NA server, i do speak korean, but playing in korean would just not be enjoyable to me since it would become more of a chore to translate then actually enjoy playing. So hopefully it will work out, but if not i might have to ask you for that way around to play or figure something else out

i have tried every solution here to get rid off the "this game is unavailable in your country", and not one has worked
i hope this is an error that nc will solve, but i doubt it, since it is an user problem, from the gameguard piece of **** program :\ |

Here's what I just got from them:
Thanks for contacting Aion Technical Support. Currently the GameGuard servers are being updated, so you may see different GameGuard errors or a message that says "Game is not available in your country" while the servers are down. Once the update to the GameGuard server is complete the error should go away if you have the full Open Beta 1.5.0.3 update installed. If you have any other questions please let us know. Regards, _____________________ ****Am I missing something... The patch that we all have is 1.5.0.2 |
