Possible Solution to Higher Pings
Hello
In my quest to improve my ping during the ongoing open beta I stumbled across an interesting tool/application that has greatly improved my ping times in game. Previously I was working with ping times ranging anywhere between 250 and 500ms (not counting those insane ping spikes every few hours of 1k+). After applying the registry tweak via the above mentioned tool, my ping times have dropped down to a new range between 100 and 150ms. The tool/application "Leatrix Latency Fix" can be found here Leatrix Latency Fix : WoWInterface Downloads : WoW Tools & Utilities. You may notice this was originally intended to improve ping times in World of Warcraft however, this tweak can be applied to any online application that relies on decent ping times. Please note that this is not a WoW exclusive tweak, nor is it a WoW add-on. My intent here is to help those who are in a similar situation to my own. I don't expect this to work for everyone. If this helps only one individual, then it was worth the time to post. Enjoy. ![]() |

It's a well known fix. (TCP ACK) He just has it packaged in the form of a script so people don't have to edit their registry manually.
It works for me. Playing from Oceanic pings go from about 600 down to 350-400. (Which is better but still sucks.) __________________ ![]() CPU: i7 920@3.2 Ghz GPU: GTX260 sp216 RAM: 6Gb DDR3 OS: Vista 64bit SP2

Quick, easy, and certainly worth ones time. Last edited by Nemmek; 09-10-2009 at 01:35 PM.. Reason: Automerged Double-Post. |

![]() Those are my pings today from SE Asia. Nothing like US pings but still decent. I've been using this fix for 4 years now. I really don't understand why more people don't try it. It even comes with another file to undo the changes in-case it doesn't help. __________________ ![]() CPU: i7 920@3.2 Ghz GPU: GTX260 sp216 RAM: 6Gb DDR3 OS: Vista 64bit SP2

Just wanted to give this a bump.
I remember applying this fix back in my WoW days on a long gone PC, however had never bothered to apply the "fix" on my rig since I built it about a year ago. Well on the Canadian west coast my ping was 350-400 the entire OB, sometimes slightly higher. After applying the registry tweak I spent the last 15 minutes in game and the lowest was 156 the highest was 226, average was right around the 200 mark. Pretty great results for no downside, I highly encourage everyone to apply this tweak if you play with substantial pings (heck everyone should see at least some benefit from this). Thanks for the post OP. __________________ E8500 @4Ghz - Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme | 4870 512MB @ 810/1000mhz | Antec 900 P5Q-E Motherboard | 4GB Patriot Viper@1066mhz (5-5-5-12) | Antec Quattro 850 Watt Auzentech Forte 7.1 | Sennheiser PC350 Headset | Samsung SyncMasterT220HD 22" Aion Server / Faction / Race yet undecided. |

Amazing Fix
Amazing fix.
Pings went from an average of 150, and i live on the east coast playing on an east coast server, to averaging 50. Huge difference, going to recommend to everyone in my legion. Thanks! |
