No everything is on default, some of them even lowered the vcore just to get a stable card :P. The fan speed seems fine and they updated the firmware (flashed the bios).

3870X2 was good, but for the most part any ATI card was a mistake to buy.

The 2000 and 3000 series cards were a joke. These are "transitional cards." These cards were made when AMD was pretty much buying out ATI ( call it a merger or whatever you want, AMD stil has majority share). The 4000 series is beginging to show the old ATi again; fast cards, resonable price, and good drivers.

UPDATE:
AMD brings the redesigned Shananghai to compete with Intel's Nehalem ARTICLE

Nahalem will have no FSB.. and neither will Shanaghai (HT 3.0). AMD is shootin for 12 cores in their rebuilt server CPUS and thier "FX (to be named somthing else)" series, to go against Intel's 8 cores. Shanaghai will also offer 4, 6, 8 and 12 cores.

Tomshardware will release thier "fist look" at the AMD Shanaghai next week!
